"I ate at the buoy on Wednesday my sister and I had the fried oyster platter. It was pretty good. However I got the seafood chowder to go. I was disappointed as there wasn't a shrimp, clam, crab, lobster, not anything but a piece of broken fish. I hope the next guest gets a better soup. Seafood chowder. Keep that in mind."

"Iconic bar and restaurant in Riverhead great view outside, with fire going inside in winter. A favourite meal is the ribs! Meat just falls off the bone yummy. A little disappointed there was no lime for my vodka lime and lemonade otherwise a pleasant dining experience"

"We stopped by Farm Country Kitchen on the way home from winetasting on the Southg Fork. My wife hadGPS found the restaurant's web page, and it looked like a likely place to try, particularly because its menu provided a number of choices for our pescetarian friend. It was already dark when we got there, and the restaurant wasn't easy to find. A little more obvious signage (of local zoning allows) would be a good thing, and I'd advise using a GPS and/or some sort of app to find it. Howeverm the restaurant was worth the search. Winter seating was on the enclosed, wrap-around porch, which made walking around a little tight, although there was plenty of room at the table itself. The porch was sealed up tightly, and given the propane heaters and the warm (for February) day, was perhaps a little too warm. We didn't have a reservation, but we were greeted and seated quickly. Our wait staff arrived quickly as well; as we were coming back from the wineries, we didn't order drinks; my wife ordered hot tea, and was presented with an assortment of what looked like loose teas that the restaurant had placed in its own teabags. There were at least 10 or 12 varieties offered. We only ordered entrees. I had the Island Ciopino, my wife ordered the Gnocci with Shiitake Mushrooms; our two friends both had the Pan-seared Swordfish over angel hair pasta. We were all pleased with the preparation, taste, and preparation. The seafood in my ciopino--shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels--were all properly cooked; the broth was well-seasoned and well-flavored. Prices were appropriate for the quality and quantity of the food. While we walked in off the street, I'd advise making reservations, particularly on weekends; even on a Monday night (even if it was President's Day) the restaurant was fairly full."
