"Very cozy romantic place with minimum amount of tables. Food was perfectly cooked and paced nicely throughout the dinner. Dinner is not rushed. Service was very attentive and friendly. One very elderly lady was dining alone and they brought out a pillow for her back since the chairs are straight backed. Even the acknowledgement of a special occasion was very low key and much like you would find in a European restaurant. Reservations are definitely recommended."

"This spot was extremely overpriced for the worst service I have ever received. The staff was disrespectful, kept us waiting despite our reservation, and the waitress bullied our table for some strange reason. The pizza came out cold, possibly the waitress did this on purpose. I wish we got reimbursed for wasting our time and night here. There are many wonderful dinner spots in Solvang! "We ordered the three pigs and the steak as our duck. Both were exceptional. For beginners we ordered the cookies, also very tasty. We had the Mistel Margarita and it was perfect. They won't be disappointed."

"This was our 4th stay at the Ballard Inn, fabulous area and the new owners have made excellent upgrades to the hotel common areas and patios, excellent seating areas to enjoy. We received warm welcoming handwritten cards on our bed for our Anniversary and my birthday, what a nice touch!! And of course the cookies every evening placed in our room always appreciated. We enjoyed our dinner at restaurant, Kip and the entire staff made our evening perfect!! I believe some of the rooms are likely in the midst of being upgraded, ours was a bit worn out, understandable given the changes that are in progress (the landscape crew was very quiet, making sure to not make noise, greatly appreciated) Overall our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable!"
