"We lunched at KIN for the first time yesterday and while we had a good dining experience, it could have been better. On the plus side, the food was very good, nicely presented and the portion sizes were good. It was lovely to receive a complementary and very tasty amuse bouche to start with. I had scallops (delicious) to start, then strip loin for my main (tasty but just a little underdone, which made it not as easy to cut as I'd have liked), and finished with a parfait, which was frozen and therefore more like an ice-cream (tasty). The view from my seat was serene and lovely and the seat itself was comfortable. On the negative side, the service was patchy. We had the three course option and once we'd had that we sat and waited for ages for somebody to offer us coffee or after lunch drinks. We ended up flagging someone down and asking for them. That said, the servers were friendly and seemed to be doing their very best to be professional and deliver a high level of service. The restaurant has a polished concrete floor and floor to ceiling windows to showcase the view. The result of all these hard surfaces is that the restaurant is noisy. Added to that, the tables are very close together and definitely don't offer a private or intimate setting. It was impossible not to hear the conversation going on at the table next door. Despite the negatives, we'll certainly go back and likely recommend KIN to friends as well. This is a new restaurant, the staff are likely still bedding down into their jobs and will improve as the settle in."
