"We had dinner in La Gauloise in our last night in Nice. We had found it from Tripadvisor, reviews said the restaurant is very local and authentic and it was true. Staffs there can only speak very little English and they have no English menu which seems very local, the waiter who serve us was so friendly and very patient to explain to us what the dishes were by using his body language. Other customers seems are local people who come here regularly. The food are superb, very fresh and the size is too generous. Starters are as big as a main course, after starters we couldn't even finish our main course and we only had one dessert to share. However, the price is highly reasonable, worth for the value. Overall, highly recommend this restaurant, and if we go back to Nice will definitely go again."

"Always perfect! Sour value I go the eyes closed and never disappointed!I strongly cone the veal escalope to the amonggiana it is too good !good the daube and the gnocchis a feast ! I recently tasted eggplant pepper parpadella it was delicious. the kitchen is in the center of the room the gnocchis are made minute in front of your eyes. It's really a cooking that's a good and traditional way for me. for a nice must."

I dared to order a daring local speciality: paned sheep testicles. very well prepared dish. of taste and pleasure.The portions are not avares (as to betting), here you eat heartily and with great pleasure. "We first went to our first evening in nizza through this restaurant. After reviewing the other restaurants nearby, I decided to come back to this because of their reasonable prices. my man ordered a bare white wine that was good, he ordered a...Salad and the grilled garnel. I ordered the auberginenparmasean and the lup. our appetizers were well prepared and delicious. as far as the deerees are concerned, our seafood was a bit overboiled, but edible. the service was attentive. I would have rated the restaurant with 4 but as the seafood was overcooked, I guess it was 3."

"We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel when we said he wanted to eat local fish. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is situated on a side road near the port about 10 minute walk from the hotel La Perouse. Only the chef speaks English and he is so passionate about his food and will come to the table to describe each dish. The specials are all on a blackboard and are all amazing mixtures of fish and vegetables. Excellent small wine list and we were treated to a glass of bubbly at the beginning of the meal. Small selection of desserts too. Highly recommended and recommend booking in advance as very popular with locals and tourists."
