"Caesar's Cafe in the centre of Alberschwende is an ideal place to stop for refreshments or a light meal before continuing up into the mountains. Excellent free wifi. Nice light meals e.g Wiener schnitzel with a lovely salad. Reasonably priced and nice decor. Spotless toilets."

"Das Haslach nennt sich ein indisches Restaurant. Das ist nur bedingt richtig, denn ein typisch indisches Restaurant, wie wir es in Großstädten kennen, ist das Haslach leider nicht, dazu ist die Auswahl an indischen Speisen zu gering. Aus Rücksicht auf die Vorarlberger gibt es also auch Wiener Schnitzel, Grillteller, Lasagne und Pizzas. Ich habe vor kurzem mit einem kleinen Verein den Jahresabschluss gefeiert und nicht alle wollten indisch essen, dennoch waren wir dort richtig.Doch nun zum indischen Essen: ich liebe im Haslach die pikante Kürbiscremesuppe mit Kokosmilch, eine Fusion aus Österreichischer und Indischer Küche. Der Fischteller war ebenso köstlich und ebenfalls eine "Fusion". Meine Lieblingsspeise ist das Ingwercurry vom Lamm, da ich aber Spinat nicht mag, verlange ich es mit indischen Linsen und dann ist es perfekt. Das Fladenbrot mit Knoblauch gehört dazu. Typische indische Desserts sucht man vergebens, das Mangoparfait geht am ehesten in die tropische Richtung.Egal, welche Richtung man bevorzugt , das Essen ist sehr gut, ebenso der offene grüne Veltliner! Ich gehe gerne wieder hin. Der aus Indien stammende Chef ist nun offiziell in Pension und so kocht nun seine Frau und es bedient sein Sohn. Es bleibt also ein Familienunternehmen. Unter der Woche gibt es auch ein günstiges Mittagsmenü."

"We recently visited Restaurant Meindl during our holidays in Vorarlberg. I wanted to have roesti with spinach and fried egg and chose this restaurant, because of its good reviews on Tripadvisor. We opted out going to another restaurant, as we read that it had a smoking section. When we arrived, we were greeted by an attentive waiter who asked us if we wanted to sit in the smoking, or non smoking section. Of course we chose non smoking. We were then led to a small area with only three or four tables as opposed to the smoking section, which had more than triple the space (this is by the way illegal). The area was separated by a glass wall and glass door, which was never properly closed. The whole place reeked of cold and later on fresh smoke. When we ordered the roesti, we had the feeling that the waitress didn't approve of our choice of one of the cheaper dishes on the menu. She seemed grumpy the whole time we were there. What was kind of odd, was that the personnel seemed uncoordinated, stopping by in quick succession, asking the same questions. The couple at the table next to ours found this amusing as well. The roesti itself wasnt what I imagined. It was rather thick and not crispy enough for my taste, but other than the huge amount of pepper I had the feeling that the cook dumped their pepper shaker on it it was okay. The spinach however was almost inedible due to it only tasting of garlic. I really love garlic and I believe that spinach and garlic go well together, but this amount was way too much for my taste. To make matters worse, the fried egg was only half cooked and quite glibbery. We didn't want to make a fuss, so we didn't say anything, but we won't visit Restaurant Meindl again."

"Wir waren hier und feierten Geburtstag...Von der herzlichen Begrüßung über den tollen - flotten - nicht aufdringlichen Service die ausgezeichnete Küche bis hin zum letzten Drink an der Bar war alles perfekt... Hier fühlt man sich als Gast einfach verstanden und sehr gut aufgehoben....Vielen Dank an das ganze Team - dass ihr unser Geburtstagsessen zu einem echten Erlebnis gemacht habt...Wir kommen sicher bald wieder!!!VIELEN DANK....."
