"Ski resorts can often be full of very average places to eat as skiers fill up on stodge after a day on the slopes. But L'arbe is a cut above. The food here was just fantastic and staff were great. Our French is not great but the waiter helped us with the menu and we all were really pleased with our choices. The chicken stuffed with fois gras came in a gravy that was sublime, we were all dipping our bread into it. I played safe with a mixed grill kebab, served on a skewer with salad and dauphinoise potatoes. Very healthy portion and the meat was tender. Other choices round the table included a venison dish and a fondue. All were delicious. The surroundings are all wooden beams and cosy nooks and crannies. I would advise booking ahead at weekends as locals all love this place and it can get really busy."

"We forget every year. If you go to u'fredy for lunch, allow longer than anywhere else. Despite the owner having recognised us when we popped in the day before for a drink, he didn't this time and instead greeted us with a scoff, shrug of the shoulders and a "what do you expect" when we asked for a table for six at lunch and hadn't booked. On a ski slope. In a restaurant serving omelettes and steak haché frites. Sorry, not impressed. However, food is decent. Just not worth as much as you pay. Will be writing a reminder in my phone for next time to head back to Aiguille for lunch."

"That is one of three restaurants in the outskirts of la clusaz and we were recommended for a traditional fondue. food (eur 30 per person with wein) so we decided to use a fondue savoiry made with 100% by...Comté cheese. as part of Swiss we make the fondue in the Swiss with gruyère and vacherin cheese somewhat different. this made a difference in my opinion, as the fondue did not melt very well and had a problem of resistance during dinner. Although this did not influence the fact that we forced them to destroy, I think it was annoying and maybe it is partly the fault of the restaurant, as the preparation was 't perfect. In addition, we also had a plate of charcuterie, which was good to share between 4 with the fondue, and we had a plate of salat, which comes with the fondue. STAFF/SERVICE the reservation is recommended, and I think they work in early / late sitting places, as they are offered only 7pm and 9:15pm via the phone. the personal was friendly, nothing special. there are NO menus in English or another language. ATMOSPHERE/LOBEN location further away from la clusas, this restaurant offers the local chalets in the evening and also some skiers in the day as its just at the bottom of the pists. the atmosphere is probably the most beautiful thing and it is very picturesque, beautifully decorated, neat traditional chalet-like device, all in wood and cozy tables with beautiful coverings, if necessary. They offer a parking space when they come with the car and the lights of the restaurants allow them to recognize it roughly from the distance. I would not really recommend to go to foot (it is what we did). conclusion: I wish I would choose something different from the fondue, as I was not impressed."
