"We had the best lamb dish we have had in Europe for 2 months! It is a family run business and Mom cooks the food, father and two of their daughters serve it. Tiny place, affordable and excellent food and the service was attentive and very friendly. We would make point of going back here to see them again and for the food. And don't forget to try Mom's homemade coffee cake not sure what it is called, but it was exquisite. Good variety on menu lamb, goat, eels, chicken, river fish, cod, regional wines. They also do breakfast and lunch as well as dinner been doing so over 30 years."

"Clearly a very “local” restaurant, but it only means the food is really good. Which it was! The service was friend but slow, and the food was delicious."

"We were a bit reluctant at first since there was only one car in the parking lot and it does not look like a restaurant when you first walk in. Fortunately, we were soon met by Antonio who guided us to a small dining area with a great view of the city below. We were never presented a menu, but Antonio would list the short list of items available. Everything we ordered was relatively simple, but delicious. Throughout the meal, Antonio would stop by and talk to check on us and to provide more information on the Casa da Real Companhia, but not so much that it was distracting or overbearing. After the meal, he invited us to the terrace where he pointed out many of the sights in Lamego and made recommendations on what to see while we were there. It was a great experience overall, and surprisingly inexpensive!"

"Very popular and the food looked good so we sat down outside which is very pleasant. The waiters spoke several languages and took our order quickly. They had just apologised to a nearby table because of the wait when the couple complained. However, we weren't in a rush. They then came back to say they had run out of a certain ice cream but the drinks came quickly. Unfortunately, the Francesinha we ordered went to another table where the mother ate her meal whilst the rest of her family waited another 40 mins for theirs. We had to wait another 30 mins for another one to be cooked! An hour for a fancy, but every day, pork cheese sandwich in tomato sauce with chips was not really acceptable."

"Small place but characteristic. We have ordered a soup of the day, a stewed goat and a grilled trout with ham, two desserts and house’s wine. We have paid 22,50€! The goat was incredible but the trout nothing special. Unfortunately We didn’t appreciated the two desserts. However it’s a place that deserves to be visited."
