"We came here for dinner on a Friday night with seven friends. The restaurant was full, very noisy and we found our conversation sometimes difficult to hear. Our orders were taken quickly, however it took a while for our meals to arrive, quite understandable given how busy the night was. They looked fabulous when they arrived - huge serves and every dish tasted great. The girls loved that each meal was overloaded with veggies. I had the pan-fried salmon and couldn't fault it. We were all too full to order cake and coffee."

"Went here for weekend brunch with the partner and a friend.<br/ <br/ We ordered various coffees each quickly came out; smooth Campos blend. For meals, we tried the recommended Soft Shell Eggs Benedict, Hash Cakes and Fritters. All were generously portioned, delicious with a twist of freshness and textures that made each unique in their own way.<br/ <br/ Service was very friendly and efficient. Casual ambience in an airy Queenslander with indoor and outdoor seating available, including a back verandah that overlooks the neighbourhood with city views. Street parking is a bit difficult (pertains to the entire bustling Paddington neighbourhood). Reasonable prices.<br/ <br/ Overall, a solid brunch spot."

"The new barrister Alan makes the best coffee anywhere. So this New Farm icon has got even better. It is the only one in the shops with table service and, and the waitressing staff are excellent. The food is a good and interesting cross-section."

"Breakfast at Salt is a perfect choice. It is one of the very few places that offer ‘bowls’ of coffee, which are amazing. The breakfast menu is very good value for money. You can have an excellent plate of scrambled eggs for just $13.50 or...splash out and have, for example, zucchini and corn fritters with poached eggs for just under $20. The meals are expertly cooked and very generous helpings. There is plenty of variety on the menu. If you are gluten free, they make their own, delicious gluten free bread. The atmosphere is convivial with tables inside and, my preference, the outside covered area. The staff are always helpful and friendly. They open very early in the morning so it is ideal for a breakfast before work. We have taken various interstate and overseas guests here for breakfast and when they visit again they insist on another breakfast at Salt!"

"Ok Coffee Club a very popular one. It seems everyone in Chermside was here the day we visited! We actually received two decent strength flat whites without bitterness (a rare occurance at most Coffee Clubs) I ordered the extra shot (60c), but my friend had the larger size it came with pretty good strength"

"We stopped here for a late lunch whilst visiting Brisbane's West End. They serve their breakfast and lunch menus until 1430 and were very accomodating when we arrived at 1415. We had a glass of white wine, a pint of beer and two small plates to share - chicken liver pate & halloumi with figs - and it came to the very reasonable price of just over $40. The plates are obviously designed as starter portions and were slightly on the smaller side, however both were delicious. If you are hungry order something from the main menu, but this is a great place for a lighter bite during the day. We would certainly return."

They make a good hollandaise too- excuse the half eaten photo- I was too pleasantly surprised and got stuck in. I had poached eggs with salmon on sourdough- it was really good. Partners big breakfast looked really good and he was quite through the meal which is always a good sign."

"Felt like I was back in the '70 's, supping with uni friends in appropriately bohemian surrounds ... but with MUCH better food and coffee! Terrific little place in Brisbane 's west end, lots of atmosphere and character. Our brekkie wrap was fabulous. The coffee itself worth getting out of bed for. And the young man with the cool hair-do taking orders was very good, welcoming people and setting an inclusive tone at the outset. Only reason I haven 't given 5 stars is because, as a coeliac, there wasn 't much of a choice for me."
