"What an amazing decision to go to this place for dinner yesterday. The restaurant was closed, however, we ordered the food and the staff let us sit down in the table to eat the food. The food is very tasty and fresh, not sure if it’s fresh fresh but it is definitely one of these places that don’t sell frozen fish from the supermarket. I loved the calamari. The staff are very nice and friendly, I totally recommend this Fish Chips Shop, they have a lot of variety to choose"

"We visited The Waterfront on Saturday evening having booked for a party of 4. The restaurant was busy but we were quickly shown to our table and given menus. That was the last we saw of any staff member for the next 20 minutes. Nobody came to take our drinks order or offer us any water. When the host eventually arrived we were not given any information on the menu or that days Specials. The service improved slightly after that when a new server took over. The food arrived in good time and was of a good quality. We were then abandoned again. Nobody came to ask if we needed any additional drinks and we had to search for the host to ask for the bill despite the restaurant now being very quiet. When we were eventually given the bill nobody came to take payment. After a further 20 minutes we had to walk up to the bar to pay as it turns out the host was outside emptying the bins. Despite the good food we would not return due to the poor service."

"We rang the day before going to confirm that they did lunches and were told yes they did and we would not have to book. We drove 40mins to get there and found the restaurant completely empty with no staff to be found. we knocked on the door of the kitchen to be told that someone would come to deal with us. No one came for some considerable time. Eventually a scruffy very young man turned up and announced (with considerable disinterest) that they don 't do hot lunches but we could have a sandwich if we liked. When I told him about my phone call of the previous day, he shrugged his shoulders and repeated well there 's only sandwiches . Needless to say we left immediately and drove a further 20 mins to find some one that wanted to feed us. This is the worst experience we have had in any establishment for years and does not represent the excellent food and service we have received throughout our 2 weeks stay in Argyle Bute. The hotel itself looked run down and in need of a lot of TLC."

"Great stay at the lochside. Staff are lovely. The rooms are nice with several looking over the water. Breakfast and dinner was spot on every day. Excellent WiFi coverage throughout."

"A very nice stay. If the bed in our room would have been better it would have been 5* review. Make sure you have dinner here because the food in the restaurant is out of this world along with the service. Breakfast is cooked to order anx very tasty with a lot of options. Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 4"

"Popped in for a quick lunch today with two friends. The leek potato soup was delicious, as was one friend's lentil soup! We each enjoyed our cheese toastie orders, two with tomato and one with onion. Sadly, they served the onion one to the wrong person, so we each only enjoyed the correct second slice! Meal was still fine, though."
