"Had a reservation at Portovenere for our first night in Nice. Our experience was so good that we ate here two more times during our three day stay in Nice. The food was delicious and, as a coeliac vegetarian, it was so good to have delicious and safe gluten free choices available. I tried the mushroom pasta, mushroom risotto, the tomato and basil spaghetti and, of course, the delicious homemade pavlova (a few times!! Our waitress was helpful, kind and funny. We ate outside and it was warm and sheltered. Would highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return next time I am in Nice."

"We were late for our table due to traffic, staff were very accommodating about this. Service overall was excellent. Timing between courses was also good (often too rushed). Food - all very flavoursome and good ingredients; prawn and avocado tartar, baby octopus salad, whole sea bass and seafood linguine. Very pleasant evening"

"Really beautiful. portions were huge! even salat was great for two sides! lasagna was good. decent eating and really nice atmosphere in the restaurant. we went around 8.30 clock and had to wait in the waiting queue to get to the restaurant, but it took no more than 5 minutes waiting time ."

"What seemed to be an ok restaurant (michelin guide and gault millau) turned out to be an ordinary tourist trap. The waiters tried to be funny but were in fact rude, the owner specialized in hard-selling to get our bill up, the food was so-so,...and one of our party ate oysters and got food poisoning at night. A place to avoid."
