"Ok, so this place screams "chain restaurant", but the decor, service and food all show that they want to go the extra mile and provide excellence in every area. I was there for lunch in the middle of the week. I think they saw me in my car glancing at the door before they were opened (11:30am) and someone came and opened the door early. I was greeted with enthusiasm and friendliness. I've been here a number of times, and have only had mediocre service once by a non-asian server. I typically get the smaller bento box because I love the variety (salad, california rolls, tempura, miso soup, meat/rice selection, dumplings) it's got everything you could want. They also gave me a lovely portion of a featured tofu dish that was delicious. Their food is VERY fresh and flavourful. These guys work so hard to give you a good experience, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed. I hope they're able to keep up the good work."

"I was introduced into this great small Italian restaurant by a good working friend of mine. I am one of the few who is not fan of Italian, unless his best friends family cook it from family recipes, but I really love this place! the pizza is absolutely perfect, not greasy and super tasty, cooked in a real fire pizza oven. the pasta is also great, with really delicious sauces (red, white and rose.) really worth a visit, and the staff is friendly and friendly! great place for a family night to dinner."

"Basically your usual North American Chinese food on a buffet, which means eating what you choose to. The buffet menu doesn't vary much from week to week and for some people, that's a good thing knowing you will eat what you crave. The selection is ample and desserts are included all for under $15 per person, children are much less in price and welcome. They are also open for lunch with the buffet as well."

"The Portofino is an excellent choice for anyone that enjoys authentic Italian cuisine.Being somewhat new to the Cochrane area I felt compelled to try this local restaurant.And it was superb!!The ambience is inviting, the menu is excellent and Christian would be happy to chat about the specials.While I have had the mussels, outstanding; prawns, superb, and even frog legs from Vietnam, the main staple and building block of an Italian restaurant is the sauce and the veal, at least where come from. Which by the way is really a nowhere small town in eastern Canada.Back to my synopsis. While I have had their sauce, which is marvellous, my liking is their preparation of the veal. Both soft, not over cooked and nicely simple with a generous portion. I even asked for a veal dish that was not on the menu and they were kind enough to make it.Guess the boys/girls know their stuff.Cudos to a small country restaurant that has uptown taste without the price.Well done!"
