"My wife and I were staying at the Castletroy Park Hotel at the end of June and on-site McLaughlins was convenient and looked good. We were not disappointed. We shared a chicken with cabbage and bacon and the sea bass with mixed green vegetables (boo...chop, asparagus and green beans). Both were excellent. I had a chocolate bomb for dessert and my wife can't remember what she had, but she recalls that it was really good The service was efficient if not particularly cordial. While the wine menu was decent, no one knew anything about the wines. The bottle was brought to the table with no presentation and then placed there for us to open an pour. Eventually a bucket was brought to keep it cool. I'd eat there again just for the quality of the food."

"Staff were very friendly, very accommodating even though the restaurant was very busy. The menu was excellent, with lots of specials advertised on the board as well as the regular dishes in the menu. The food was amazing. I only wish I lived closer so that I could try everything! Any time I am within 20 km of Clonmel I will definitely making a detour to pay Mai's Cafe a visit!!"
