"Cactus Flower Cafe in East Hill! The owner took our to go order on the phone; she opened this place after moving from California to try to help with the?we?ll say lacking?availability of cultural food in Pensacola. She delivered! The chicken enchiladas (pictured first were hands down the best enchiladas I?ve ever had. Order them. The SoCal burrito (pictured second was fantastic as well as enormous, the picture doesn?t show a good angle but it was about as big as a plate and loaded with steak and potatoes. The refried beans were fresh and not greasy and the lime rice was like a premium version of what you?d get at Chipotle. Not pictured was the guac which was the best I?ve found in Pensacola. I too moved here from California (a trend? and this is about as close as it comes as far as freshness and the ?west coast flare?. A clear cut above the other Texas themed Mexican joints around here. I think some of the local trucks adequately hit the CA street food vibe (Tacos Mexicanos, El Asador, etc , but this place had all the comforts of your classic family owned Mexican restaurant in California that uses premium ingregients and homemade recipies. I will be going for a run tomorrow though. The restaurant is a sweet vibe too with a coffee shop attached to it all open until 9. Will be back soon on a non school night to try their fresh squeezed margaritas. Cheers!"

"Played basketball with Hub Stacy back in the 90s… I remember when he started the restaurant. Today my wife and I ate here and it is nice as ever. Located in historic downtown Pensacola across from a park with beautiful live oaks. Whether you like to watch the game inside or enjoy the canopy area outside… it’s a treat. Today Sarah was our waitress. She was excellent!"

"I've never had a worse experience as far as the food is concerned in my life. We had five in our party. We ordered and received four meals. Two of the burgers had to be returned because they weren't fully cooked. One of the corrected meals came out then the next came out about 10 minutes later. The last meal had been dropped so we had to wait 15 more minutes for it. They did comp my rum and sprite (which was VERY weak). So finally after all that I was asked if I needed a to go box after having my meal for 10 minutes.."

"Date night dinner with the husband and came here at the suggestion of a friend. We were greeted and chose an outside table. The weather held to allow for this although inside looked fine but did not feel as casual. Had the mango shrimp dinner and my only critique would be to allow me to choose my adventure with the mango salsa....the fried tortillas that wrapped the shrimp were a tad soggy from the juices. The flavors were all there though. The enchilada dinner was good too the meat was super tender and were not bland at all. Now as for the beans (both black and pinto) and the rice (both Spanish and lime) felt like afterthoughts. To make a fair assessment we ordered both. The rice and beans lacked any additional flavors or spices to make them special and the rice was slightly undercooked. Not bad just not new and exciting. The margarita was pretty spot on for a good drink but would only have one as the price would be for a whole gallon of margarita at any other Mexican restaurant. Overall would totally come here again. Perhaps will opt for the appetizer portion instead of the dinner portion to not waste the rice and beans."
