"My husband and I recently stopped at this restaurant quickly for lunch prior to returning home. We wish we would have gone earlier in our trip. It was by far our favourite restaurant we visited. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was...delicious and unique. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Playa."

"This little spot at the new market is really good. We stopped by for snacks and what we found was that they prepare fresh and amazingly good ceviche. It is more like its Peruvian version. The tostones or green fried plantains were crispy and delicious. Very nice place, clean and close to the heart of Playa. Service was nice and fast. Everything is prepare right in front of you."

"I have eaten here several times for breakfast, which is also excellent. this time we were two couples, one of whom is not crazy about Mexican cuisine, and I knew he could find something he wants here. we really enjoyed our meal, the...costs are very modest and they give very good service. "5 of us sat down for a few drinks and a a bite to eat at around 2pm, hoping to get in and out with plenty of time to enjoy the remaining sun on the beach.We ordered 2 ceviche to split, lunch, and large mojitos. The mojitos tasted like soda water...no lime or mint flavor, no rum, and with sugar granules at the bottom. We asked our server if they had alcohol, and he said yes, but took them back to add more. When they came back, nothing had changed, so we ordered 5 shots of Appleton Rum. We each took the shots straight....but they had CLEARLY been cut with water. We had ordered our food at the same time as when we initially ordered the drinks, and 1 hr 30 mins later...our ceviche finally arrived....but it was room temperature (warm)....yikes! We waited another 15mins, and our food still hadn't arrived, so we just paid for what we had had, and left. We walked over to Mamitas, and got lunch within 20mins of sitting down. While at Mamitas, we ordered another shot of Appleton rum, to compare....sure enough, it just confirmed our suspicions that Hacha had been watering down their liquor. Yikes. Bad experience all around AND they wasted all of our sun time..."

"No nos hemos hospedados en este hotel, pero hoy decidimos comer en la playa y fue lo peor que hemos hecho, para empezar los precios no son económicos tampoco tan costosos, pero nos sirvieron un cafe que era agua sucia, el jugo "natural" de naranja era de cartón de hace 3 días, los chilaquiles fríos, secos, ácidos y babosos, no existe en mexico peor chilaquiles que estos, los huevos revueltos que considero no sean difíciles de hacer, pues los hicieron crudos, le informó de la situación al mesero y se los llevo y me dijo que el cocinero le dijo que eran frescos apenas hechos, bueno le dije tráigame la cuenta, pague 240 pesos por no haber comido nada. Para mi 240 pesos no son nada, pero me molesta la acción de haberme hecho pagar una cuenta que poco toque."

"You need to go to Mr Marios it was nothing short of outstanding! We were tipped off by our cab driver about this place and really goes to show locals know best. We went twice and wish we went everyday. First day we ordered fish and guacamole with margaritas (the best margarita in town- many places in playa we found watered down or diluted and overly sweet- Mr Marios was perfecto!) The second visit the marinated octopus was recommended to us- it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. My husband had the oysters they were fresh and delicious. Thank you Mr Marios for a wonderful true Mexican experience couldn't recommend more:)"

"This place is a favorite when visiting Playa del Carmen. On a street full of vendors, shoppers, restaurants and overwhelmed tourists, this is the place to go to relax for a while and just watch it all pass by. Enjoy delicious fresh food and cocktails served by very friendly staff who aim to please... our server on the last two visits was Miguel. He remembered our names and even our dog’s name! A favorite afternoon snack is the tequila queso fundido and the cerviche camaron. There’s lots to choose from for vegetarians too."
