"No bread served or offered, strange. Cocktails were not cold enough on warm! We asked for hot plates, but they were hardly warm. It's very salty. Treacle tart bland with almost no taste...was it brought in? Maidstone needs fine food, but this restauramt has to listen and sort things. What is so difficult with hot plates?"

"Had a family pre Christmas dinner here 2 weeks ago, and would highly recommend this establishment. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us and kept our glasses topped up, the food was excellent, not one complaint from the eight of us, and if you knew our family that’s an achievement on its own, lol. Will be returning again soon, Merry Christmas to all at the Rocking Robin."

"Do they taste the food?! What a shame. Lovely night out because of the company. The serving staff were friendly and pretty attentive, but the food was not good. My friend and I ordered muscles as a main. The muscles themselves were cleaned and cooked well, and they were nice big muscles. But the whole dish completely lacked flavour. There was hardly any sauce, and what was there appeared to be simply made of unsalted butter and water with some boiled onions thrown in. It was very odd! The muscles were nearly £20 and it was an eye watering £5 for a side of chips. Because dinner was so disappointing (for most one friend enjoyed a nice meal), we opted to finish the meal on high other dessert. I had gyspy tart. The tart itself was yummy, but again, the ice cream completely lacked flavour. It was like they hadn't tasted it. It was so strange. For a place with a typical price point of £30 for a maim course, I'd expect a lot better. I won't be returning. At a final bill of £60 per head (with alcohol), it was vastly overpriced and completely disappointing. Service: 5"

"The menu is a set price and very reasonable considering that cooking is top notch stuff. all our dishes were delicious and would not have gone out in a michelin stared restaurant. everything, including cocktails, was error-free. this is the place for high-end eating without going the big city price. we have been twice now and will certainly go back."

"Waited over an hour for food despite pre-booking. No warning on arrival that there was a problem with service. Food arrived one plate at a time and waited ages before cutlery arrived so we’re left with food in front of us but nothing to eat it with. Overhead another table complain about waiting 2 hours for food, so I guess we were lucky! When food did arrive, key elements of each dish were missing, ie no salad served with scampi and chips as advertised on menu, also no bread served with Greek Salad as advertised. The children’s penne pasta was so over cooked the pasta fell apart as soon as you tried to pick it up with a fork. We wouldn’t go back based on this experience."
