"Visited the cherry house on Sunday and was really looking forward to it. The starter was ok melon balls with Parma ham. I chose rib of beef which was chewy I had a selection of vegetables which in my opinion didn't seem to have been seasoned. The sherry trifle was ok but didn't have fresh cream just synthetic cream.very surprised as I I was expecting a very high standard here"

"It was awful. Ordered fish and chips x2. The server said mushy or garden peas? I replied well, mushy because you can 't serve the garden peas in that state (they were under the heat lamps and had become so dried an shrivelled they looked like dried peas that they also sell on the seed racks). The server just grunted. Had no inkling that this was a reasonable query or objection. Took no pride in what was being served. Seemed to have the mentality of 'look mate I don 't get paid enough to think about the quality on the plate, just to shovel it on '. It did not bode at all well....when the food came, my elderly mum could not eat the chips on her plate. She remarked these have been under a hot plate for ages, they are chewy and not at all fresh . I wish I had made a scene and demanded better. But did not have the time. Will simply never go here again for more than a sandwich."

"I recently treated myself and my partner to a meal at the Loch Fyne and took advantage of their Summer offer of courses for which included a glass of wine. I had wanted to try out the restaurant for a while and it was the offer that got my to take action. We loved the style of the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was tasty and the wine well chilled. It was excellent value at I liked the ambience of the place and it can cater for larger groups too so I will be going back. Also hope they do another offer!"

"Looking for a place to celebrate a birthday, my mother-in-law recommended One Fine Food and we certainly did enjoy ourselves. For those of you in Whitby, with exception of the restaurant, it has the feeling of Deville's when it was around. Only opened six months when we visited, we were told by the staff that pizza is what they are known for and with that, three different pizza's ordered for all to try at the table. However before the pizza an antipasti, Verdura Board of roasted vegetables with herbs grown at Wildfire Golf Course located on Stoney Lake. Kitchen for the restaurant is right in front of the bar to see all the magic happen, only craft beer is offered and European wines. And when your meal is done, a walk through the grocery store which includes a bakery of homemade delights and gelato bar. Do remember that this is more on the high end and should not be compared to any of your local grocers. Since this righting we have visited the restaurant a second time and will continue to venture the drive from Whitby the odd time to enjoy some rather great pizza."
