"Always amazing! So fresh and full of flavours! We had the chili jam squid and angel prawns. The flavours were so delicious! For a main we shared the duck curry, pork belly and the greens! Yes it's a little expensive but you can't complain when the quality is always outstanding!"

"Pretty good. steak with mushroom sauce and broccolini was a large mix of traditional, well boiled, with some modern elements added. the pears and waves dessert, which is also available as a sweet brunch with sweet and yogurt, is a star."

"I feel this 3* rating is a bit generous.I came here for dinner with my partner; we were both keen for a low key feed and we hadn't been to this new place. When we entered, we were told to sit wherever we liked. We assumed fairly that this meant there was table service. After 10 minutes sitting down, I went up and got menus from the bar. Once we'd picked what we wanted, my partner went up to the bar to order. He was rudely told by the bartender to go back to the table because they only do table service and he couldn't take the order - I can see why he's behind the bar and not on tables with those effective customer service skills.Waiters looked flummoxed and out of their depth all night, and it was hardly a busy night for the foreshore.Once we finally got to order food, the table (which was still dirty from the last patrons and never got wiped down - see photo) only got tap water after we asked (which is no hanging offence admittedly but in a place with table service should be a given). We watched two groups of five people each leave before ordering any food or drinks due to the poor service - they both waited over 10 minutes each and still never got served.Another group of five that came in well after us were fed before us. We waited over 50 minutes for two simple dishes. My partner asked how long it would take after about 35 minutes. We were told 5 minutes longer. It still took another 15 minutes after that (and enquiring two more times) before we got the meals. The meals themselves were actually delicious - the chicken paella tasted good and we also got the lamb ribs which were amazing too.The manager told us that last night was his first night and he was still getting a hang of the place. Being an ex restaurant manager I appreciate how hard it was.The chef made us a Creme Catalan as an apology for the service. It's a Spanish version of a Creme brûlée.I was pretty disappointed overall by the service. I really hope the manager can run the front of house effectively and train the young staff there because the place has lots of potential to challenge the otherwise bland scene on the Kingston Foreshore.I won't be rushing back but if I hear it improves in coming months I may consider giving it a second chance."

"Visits Tuesday night. We both had the Bacon Burger with chips. Absolutely delicious. Great value for money with $2 chips that are offered on Tuesday with any Burger purchase. The staff was great and the meals came out quickly. Love this place!!"

"We have been in Hattori Hanzo before and wanted to dine in again. Sadly, it's nothing Japanese here, modern twist with not successful food. Slaw cooked meat was just ok, Teryaki chicken on bed of rice very dry and pepper squeed very small serve with nice Asian vegie. Change in menu didn't succeed. Still too loud and you can hardly have conversation. Wine is expensive, so it's food.. I love the next door restaurant and owners are the same. Service was very good."
