"With the lack of original restaurants in the Santa Fe suburb of Mexico City you would think this place was refreshing - but it is not. The food is good but deliberately expensive (I assume they feel that overpricing it will make it better). The service is poor. I had lunch with a couple that apparently knew the chef or the owner and still had to wait to much for entrées. They lost me when they did not dare disturb one of their obnoxious patrons that was smoking a cigar 10 ft away from a newborn. Avoid the place altogether."

"During a business trip to Mexico City, a friend insisted in visiting Mercado del Carmen, in San Angel.... no doubt the ride on a Friday night was worth the drive.A lot of small places that you can buy or taste many different spots. I'll like to have a special mention to Tout Choc Olat, and then have a very particular dinner at the "Food Court"... just have a seat at Cava del Carmen, great wine list, superb attention and sommelier suggestions, and the best spot on the house... from there you can eat many different "Tapas" that for sure you will enjoy...No doubt one of the best places in town, don't worry about the drive from downtown to San Angel... you must go...."
