"Starter was adequate but nothing more. Main course. We both had sandre fish. 50% of mine was completely raw and inedible. Nobody came to ask if the meal was OK. When waiter came to table, issue was pointed out and we requested the 'chef ' was informed. Waiter asked if I wanted them to have a second attempt at cooking it. We declined as my wife had finished her meal and mine was cold and congealed. Bill was requested. It arrived with no reduction. Pointed this out to one waiter, he disappeared. A waitress arrived with a card machine to take full payment, we again pointed out the problem. She indicated it was our fault for not accepting that the congealed plate of cold food was reheated. No response. She consulted, possibly the owner. No response and no eye contact. The offending dish cost €23.00 and the meal in total €114.50. We eventually offered them in cash €105.00 deducting less than half of the completely inedible main course. Even without this dreadful experience the edible food and service would have been mediocre and over priced. This restaurant is completely outclassed by the Ververt restaurant nearby. We will not return to this place."

"Ce restaurant est pratiquement le seul à Montsoreau (dont le château vendu à un privé est devenu totalement inintéressant, sans âme, murs de tuffeau repeints à la chaux et transformé en un musée d'art contemporain minimaliste). Le restaurant n'a plus la classe d'il y a quelques années et l'accueil, bien qu'aimable manque un peu de classe vestimentaire. Les tables de bois près des fenêtres n'ont ni nappe ni set et le service allégé m'a obligée à demander un essuyage des miettes de pâte feuilletée en début de repas ainsi qu'un remplacement du pain jugé un peu trop dur. La carte elle aussi est allégée avec très peu de choix. Il faut dire que la baisse de fréquentation du Château entraine automatiquement une baisse de la clientèle du restaurant ce qui ne facilite pas la gestion du restaurateur."
