"A long time since we have eaten here, Covid has so much to answer for, but great to see that the Kitchen survived the lockdowns because it is a great spot for a good quality snack or lunch, and ideally located, just off the Shrewsbury bypass, on the road into mid Wales. You can sit in or out, if inside there is table service, if you decide to sit outside then you are asked to pop in and order at the front desk. A varied menu, something for all palettes and budgets. We had a quick Soup of the Day with Crusty Bread, dark, earthy Mushroom, creamy and full of flavour. Plenty of free parking, toilets on site. An excellent fuel stop."

"We found this lovely little tea room after a 7-mile walk around the wenlock area.I and my partner had previously eaten a sweaty dish earlier in the afternoon, so we decided to finish the day with a bit of luxury.I had a coffee with milk and my partner had a cup of tea, we both shared a victorious cake between us.Wow, better with milk that I had a good time also the cake was excellent service, that lovely!"

"We went for Sunday lunch for our son's 18th birthday. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on the patio area overlooking the lovely gardens. The service was excellent even though we were outside. There were a few of us and everyone had the 2 courses option. We all had a great meal and dessert it couldn't have been any better. Lovely afternoon."

"While in Shropshire we usually pay a visit to the Hawkstone Golf Club just to relax and watch those brave souls who were out playing holes on this day that was a bit warm and very windy! We looked over the menu and ended...up with Soup of the Day (Broccoli and Stilton) with crusty roll and a ham sandwich on granary bread with salad and salad. It was nice, nothing outstanding or unusual. It has become a bit more expensive over the years and it could be due to Hawkstone not handling its own kitchen any longer. Could understand too why the restaurant wasn't as busy as it has been in years gone by. Still, it is nice."
