"My last few visits to the cafe have not been up to standard for what you would expect for John Lewis. Yesterday I visited the cafe again, hoping it may have improved but it really hasn 't! The whole cafe is in a muddle! It was 1pm on a Saturday and there was hardly any hot or cold food left, a choice between 2 prepacked sandwiches (tuna or egg). I don 't understand why the middle of the serving/ordering area is barricaded off, it makes the area look untidy and there isn 't a lot of space!? The ordering and serving food is confusing, people were unsure where to stand, where to order etc. I ordered a tea and was told there were no saucers because they 've not been washed up yet and I was given a small 'Nespresso ' spoon to stir my tea with. The tables were not cleared or clean, meaning you had to clear them yourself! I understand it has been difficult due to covid etc but this was low standards for John Lewis as I used to love the cafe, their fresh sandwiches etc."

"It was better when it was your local pub with trampolines for the kids and family play area setting. Since their revamp, I feel it's gone for the more up market look and it's lost it's cosy feel. The food is ok, not my first choice for a family meal out though. Parking: Adequate parking Price per person: £30–40 Food: 4"

"Samphire at The County Hotel is a great find! Couldn't fault the service (waitress very friendly), food excellent, décor and ambience very relaxing, but there was not much atmosphere on the Friday evening when we went (only a few other guests dining). Highly recommend."

"I used to love Bourgee and the quality was great, but all that's the same now is the name and the decor. The food was really average lobster was chewy, pasta totally lacked flavour and every lacked the finesse it used to deliver. The staff were super friendly, but not that clued up and it used to be impeccable. The menu has shrunk a lot, which could be good if it meant they were focussing on delivering great dishes, but that's not even the case. It's a shame it's gone that way and may have been slightly more forgivable if it wasn't still the same price! I hope it finds it's mojo again soon."
