"It took me a while to write this review because I really wanted to give a good rating, since the ambience and service were both so lovely. However the food simply was not. While the crab cakes were delicious, they were absolutely tiny barely a mouthful, and each sat on a few measly leaves of spring mix. For $7.5 apiece I would appreciate even a little bit more salad, or something, but this is a recurring trend at this restaurant. For my main, I got the maple pork tenderloin which came with a delicious sauce. The pork was a little overcooked and chewy, but that wasn't the biggest issue. Once again, the portion was almost laughable. I could eat three plates of this and another entree myself, and have room for dessert. The saving grace was the sweet potatoes, which were delightfully caramelized and roasted to absolute perfection. The other entree was fish of the day, which turned out to be salmon on that particular evening. It was unfortunately very bland, along with the rice pilaf. Nothing to say except utter mediocrity. Got some creme brulee for dessert, which I have no complains about. It was delicious. Also forgot to mention, the free bread at the start was also fantastic, but there were only two half slices of it (you can get refills for 75¢ I believe, which I made the mistake of not doing). I really wanted to leave a glowing review for this place, but simply cannot for a meal that cost $150, I went home still hungry and had to pick up snacks for later. And I'm a fairly small person (5'4, 120lbs), so I can only imagine dining here as an individual with bigger stature. It is a shame though, because the vibe and the wait staff were some of the nicest I've encountered."

"I ordered eggs Benny here. It had marinated mushrooms on it, fresh spinach , poached eggs , hollandaise on an English muffin. I believe this version was West Street Benny or a name similar.The marinated mushrooms tasted so strongly of the marinade that it overpowered the entire dish. The poached eggs were overcooked and hard. The Hollandaise was OK. It was so bad that I could not eat it. I told my waitress, when she finally showed up with our bill. Her only comment was " Well at least you had some toast to eat". Once she served our food, she never came back to check on us other than to bring bill and take away plates. She was not a new waitress. She told us she worked there for several years but usually worked evenings. In the end she removed the Eggs Benny from our bill. We have eaten here several times. Last few times the service and food has been substandard."

"My wife and I visited for the first time after a 5 year hiatus. We ordered fish and chips of which the request was a lightly batted version of fish.Our first version of it unfortunately was a very soggy pair of fish that was not fully cooked and with more batter than wanted.It was brought back in. The cooking staff seemed surprised and asked what was wrong (that in itself was a bit of a red flag for me).The manager requested a new batch made and even offered some options as a compensation although this was declined. She made a point of bringing the next batch for me to precheck before I left (which was nice of her).It was better cooked, hotter but will admit still heavier in batter than cared for.Compared to the previous visit it appears to have lost some of its charm.Not sure if we will return any time soon."

"Cait's cafe is a great little spot to stop for a quick bite in Goderich. There are a bunch of options to choose from including some desserts, sandwiches, a salad, and plenty of other quick and easy menu items. Everything was fresh and the staff were really friendly. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I did find everything to be a little overpriced. It was $4 for a brownie and almost $5 for a rather small iced coffee, so if you're on a budget you might want to try somewhere else. Otherwise, Cait's is a great little place in downtown Goderich!"

"This was my first time having supper here. Have had brunch before which was good. The food was amazing. First time in my life I have enjoyed couscous. It was absolutely delicious. I was really impressed by all the local offerings and the different beers were quite the treat. Service was excellent as well. Enjoyed a special night out all around."
