"This place is a GEM. I live in Troy, but have been working in Grosse Pointe Farms for the past 8 months and I've been searching for good Mediterranean food. I am of middle eastern descent myself and love flavorful food. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and picked out a lentil soup and rice pudding out of the fridge. My platter came with rice and a salad. The salad was so fresh and the dressing was mazing. The chicken and rice were delicious. The Lentil soup is now one of my faves. I am so happy I have found this place!"

"Salad bar and lasagna. I've probably eaten twenty times here. I like the simple salad bar, not many articles, but what they have is fresh. I also like the lasagna and other Italian dishes. This place will not bring the Roma Café or Andiamo Trattoria out of business, but it is quite decent with a more family atmosphere."

"Incredibly poor service. we were served a glass of wine that was half sediment. we waited to discuss it with our server, but he disappeared 15 minutes. we asked another server about it, and he was smuggling and quarreling, claiming we knew nothing about red wine. then he went over to a hospitable who eats by himself and began to mock us for our lack of knowledge of the wee. it was surreal. I couldn't believe what happened. then the customer began to mock us for our bad knowledge of the wee. I've been drinking red wine for 30 years. I have never served a glass of wine that was half sediment; I was never publicly embarrassed to just ask a question in a restaurant. Moreover, although this seems to be in comparison with the treatment we receive, the laugh tasted as if he had just been overboiled and dropped on a teller. flavorless and a kitchen disappointment."

"I've been going to Hillside Hearth since they opened in the pandemic in 2020. I agree there was some customer service bumps as they got going. but the quality of food is always worth the wait. (and they have ironed out a lot of those first year kinks! Incredible baguettes and quiche slices. The ham cheese scone is fantastic as well. Fresh baked bread daily! And, the head baker has some gluten free tricks up his sleeve! Their sandwiches are large and great for sharing. Love their homemades soups, too! Hope you enjoy as much as I do."
