"Decent hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Communal spaces is very late 1980s early 1990s. Not cosy. Lovely pool. Rooms need many more electric sockets. We only had two in our room one by the front door (pretty useless for charging anything) another by the coffee machine. Had to disconnect the latter to charge phones. We had half board the food is not amazing. Plentiful, but more like a high quality school food than restaurant food."

"We visited this place for a dessert as they had a note outside of the restaurant that they offer a homemade strudel. Upon arrival we asked for a table for two and we were showing where to sit. When a waitress brought us a full menu, I have asked her for a dessert menu in English. She showed me a German menu and pointed to a picture of a strudel. She was very unhappy with us as we were only for a dessert. Her face displayed anger and frustration She pulled paper plate placements from us along with napkins leaving only a bare table for us. We wanted to leave the place but because we already put an order, we stayed. After finishing our food, no one acknowledged us or asked if we need anything else. We waited for 25 minutes until my husband called her for a bill. This place needs to be more polite and friendly with their customers."

"Extremely rude staff They hate tourists but their livelihood depends on it. First when we entered the restaurant they said the back is booked so we sat in front but when other people came in they were welcomed to the area so n the back where they said is booked. I asked why then they started mumbling and making up answers. They called it a stupid question that why their business is tourist based but they depend on tourist."

"Silberhorn is a sister restaurant of the wonderful Wengener Hof hotel, so based on the Managers recommendation, I went to have dinner at Silberhorn and had the cheese fondue with mushrooms and bacon. I'm wouldn't order anything else as starter soup etc as the...fondue is more than ample dinner ,along with preferably a good local wine or anything else which you would prefer to drink. Overall, very good service from the staff and the best fondue I ate in the Jungfrau region. As a note to American and Canadian travelers, the staff mentioned that this group somehow doesn't tip as I asked my waiter to give me an option to add tips he was pleasantly surprised that being from N.America I asked for option to tip... Something for travelers to think off as this is a tourist dependent town..."

"Das Restaurant ist klein, jedoch sehr gemütlich, gepaart mit einer gewissen Eleganz. Die Karte ist übersichtlich, was ich bevorzuge, dies gibt einen Hinweis auf die frische der Angebote. Was wir gegessen haben war alles vorzüglich, der Fisch auf den Punkt gegart. Die Weinkarte ist sehr umfangreich und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas an.Der Service war überaus freundlich, jedoch unaufdringlich. Wir waren alle vier überaus zufrieden mit dem Gebotenen. Gerne wieder.(Einziger Minuspunkt, wir mussten mehrmals anrufen, bis eine Verbindung zustande kam, da das Telefon immer auf einem Anrufbeantworter endete, hier gäbe es sicher Verbesserungspotenzial)"

"Although this restaurant is not even mentioned by Rick Steves in his guides, this place is great. The food we had there was the best we had in Switzerland. Both local cuisine with wild sausage or more typical European cuisine, such as Brat baby chicken, were... very good. From their veranda one had a good view of the dustfalls and the surrounding mountains (if it was not cloudy). There were roses on the tables and soft jazz music in the background. But the waiting staff made this restaurant even more. Chris, a summer waiter from Poland, was so good that we had to come back every night in Lauterbrunnen. Thank you. Chris and thank you to the rest of the waiters and the boss of the virgin."

"Das Airtime ist ein Treffpunkt für junge Outdoor Aktivisten. Man hört am Nebentisch die unglaublichen Geschichten der jungen Leute die sich todesmutig von den nahen Felsen stürzen. Trotzdem haben wir uns hier als "alte Knacker" wohl gefühlt. Ausgezeichneter Kaffee und wirklich aussergewöhnlicher Schokoladenkuchen oder sagt man "Brownie" ?"

"We had a nice stay here. we were able to book connection rooms (the brunette rooms) as we were on the move with our children and it worked great. the rooms were not luxurious, but they were very comfortable and had all the space and conveniences we needed. wengen is beautiful and hotel baren was in a great location on the main street, but very close to for easy access. the eating was extraordinary that we made the mistake not to book half board and eat it there twice, because it was the best in the city. we only speak English and communication with the employees was very easy."
