"We have never had a bad experience at Shady Oaks. Until last night. Party of 4, we were seated in near bar. I. guess the bartender had to do double duty, she was not a friendly server, it was not busy in this area, she had no more than 2 tables of r people at one time while we were there, never offered refill on anything but water, we all had sodas or margaritas. Food came out with hot sides, cool meat. the brisket was the driest I've ever had there. Between the unfriendly server and brisket, I was horribly sad. we brought out-of-town friends here. We told them it's the best around. We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday night. it was not busy at all. very disappointing, to say the least."

"It was expensive for 4 people, but it was entertaining. For the price, I wish the portions were large enough to take home leftovers. The food they made was for 8 people at the table. 2 different groups. It was fun though. I was 1 of 5 different people that had their bday celebration there, so that was cool. The food was good and the service was great."

"4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed rather strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other."

"I was really looking forward to eating here. I completely enjoy Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. I ordered lamb. What I got was 10 half inch cubes of lamb, a cube of pure fat and two small pieces of teriyaki beef. It was served with two tablespoons of bitter and bland hummus and three tablespoons of tasty cucumber salad. There was only one occupied table so there was not a reason for my lunch to be so small and so bad."
