"Knurrhahn easily leads the pack of fast food restaurants on the beautiful island of Borkum. Its success is not in its entirety based on the quality of its food or the creativity of its menu. Let's face it: It owes most of the glory to...the lack of decent competition. If you have never had fast food before, you will be delighted. That may not be the case for everyone, so don't expect any surprises. Fries are a bit too wobbly and lack decent seasoning. All sauces and dips pretty much taste the same. But any fried fish is a solid choice and well executed. Try the Kibbelinge or a Backfischfilet. And get a Grauburgunder to wash it down with. This place could easily be turned into a legend. Just add a home made chunky curry sauce, bring in something fresh via some tiny ottolenghi salads, add a selfmade mayonnaise, maybe even a tomato chutney and, pretty please, replace the boring wine list with something of structure. You're welcome."

"After we first entered this place in mid-May 2020 somewhat hesitantly looking for a cheap lunch table, we ate here on every second holiday day. The food was inexpensive in the truest sense of the word. Not only that the rich portions have tasted us very well; we were treated extremely friendly and felt good and safe here despite Corona."

"Was 19 years ago with my late husband for the first time in this restaurant and incredibly enthusiastic about the food and the friendly service. Today I was here with my present man and my father and can only say that it is still the same! The food was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly and friendly, although the restaurant was full and they had a lot to do. At the next holiday on Borkum we will surely be back."
