"A delightful but relaxed restaurant that eats is delicious and well prepared while the atmosphere is relaxed thanks to friendly staff. we tried a series of directed, salat, apaki, high-time, sausage, saganaki, huge zucchini balls, filled wein leaves. everything was delicious and full of taste. it is common to get a free nibbel before and/or after eating in Greece, but merastri went over and beyond with a plate of freshly baked broth, minze raki and orange cake with ice. I would definitely return and recommend merastri."

"Lively outdoor restaurant in the market where you can watch people which is half the fun. The food is really good, traditional Greek fare, and the staff are friendly and talkative. We had a great dinner! Will go back!"

"I walked here for dinner on a Monday evening in early July 2022 with my bf. I loved that this place is right by the water perfect for a sunset dinner. We did not need reservations and just sat down while they got us the menus. We ordered the olives, bread, grilled sardines, and spaghetti with shrimp. The only dish that wowed us was the Grilled sardines. It was very fresh and cooked well and simply. It was a simply lemon sauce and really made the dish pop. The spaghetti shrimp dish was very big and should be shared. The shrimp was a bit gritty but well cooked and fresh. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and the sauce had a lot of flavor. Although this place was pricey, I'd still give it a try if you don't know where else to go to eat. The even pack your leftovers for you and give you free dessert. Super friendly staff."

"Simple food, expertly executed. Family run. I blew kisses at the cook while I ate. That is not like me. I was compelled to make the staff take a photo with me. That is not like me either. I love this place so much I will travel from Canada back to Heraklion just for a meal here. Seriously. Eat here."
