"Travelling through Central America my favourite part was definitely La Punta! This would not of been the case if we didn't stay at El Lugar! The owner, Sue could not be more accommodating!! She is happy to give you advice, whip you up a delicious meal and have a drink with you. Sue even let me celebrate my 30th with a piñata in the courtyard with all the other guests! The atmosphere of El Lugar is like no other and you will find yourself comparing every hostel with disappointment post your stay!"

"We went there for dinner. Food was just ok, nothing to write home about, but the owner who is also the waiter, was one of the most impolite persons I've ever met.He has no respect for Mexico and it's people.Avoid the place, there are lots of better options."

"I stayed with a friend in Puerto Escondido at La Punta nearly a year ago and to this day, I long for the slow, relaxing, friendly, everybody-we-meet-is-family atmosphere we found the moment we walked through the door at El Rinconcito. We returned again and again....Lolo and Yannick are not just proprietors. They live and breathe their restaurant. They make the food, they serve it, they hang out with guests, and they have that special touch that makes you feel completely at home in their retreat. The location right on the beach is spectacular. The atmosphere is secluded at the end of the most astonishing beach. The food--oh, my god, the food. I have decided to return to Puerto for my birthday this coming January and now that Lolo has just brought baby Diego into the world (CONGRATULATIONS, LOLO AND YANNICK I cannot wait to meet the newest addition to the El Rinconcito family. No matter where you are staying in PE, make the trip. Walk the beach. Settle in. Meet your new PE family."
