"First, the good points; The front of house staff were delightful and the breakfast tea was superb. Unfortunately however the kitchen and food were hopeless. We waited close to an hour for our food to arrive, and then it was average at best. Meals described...in the menu as including two eggs, arrived with one. Welsh Rarebit on toast had solidified. Baked beans were a small pot of mainly juice. Disappointed we wasted a valuable hour of our bank holiday. There are many better places to eat in Hove."

"Disappointing. Well I have often been here in the past but not recently so thought it's worth a try because it's always been pretty good. We sat down, nicely greeted and had a quick look at the menu and ordered. The antipasto to share was fine as was the peroni. The problems started with the main meal. Literally straight after my partner had finished her starter she went to the toilet. Within a minute the main meal was on the table, she hadn't even come back! So she sat and was greeted with what I can only describe as a pile of pasta. I ordered the tagliatelle filetto, and my partner the special which was linguine and crab. I had one mouthful and the waitress was over is everything ok before I'd even swallowed it. I just said fine. As I carried on I realised it wasn't really fine but not wanting to make a fuss I carried on eating it. The sauce was plain with a strange taste, it was supposed to have white wine? The fillet steak was nice but ruined by the sauce, I had tomato skins and the green stalks in my food plus you could have fed people with it. My partner's was ok but again a great pile served with no finesse, crab shell and far too much crab blended into it, just over powering and not done very well. Having said that her sauce was much better. At the end of the meal I had every intention of paying for it putting it down to experience. When asked by the waitress if everything was ok I aired my grievances. She informed the chefs who then informed the manager who incidentally did not even come to see us, no problem. I asked for the bill but it never came, so we sat there another mins wanting to leave. I ended up going to the counter and again aired my disappointment only to be rudely almost shouted at, Did the waitress ask if everything was ok? he repeated this twice!! I said yes but within a minute and again I said I have no problem paying the bill but there was shell in the pasta and my sauce was terrible. Oh sorry is all I got, didn't even offer to pay our drinks bill which was only a peroni and a coke!! Well I can safely say I won't be returning after not even receiving a correct apology and treated like some idiot trying it on. I think looking at the kitchen staff too this must be the most unauthentic italian I have ever been to. If you go, have the pizza!"

"We were just wondering around the lanes looking for somewhere for a light lunch and came across the canna kitchen. Really lovely vegan café and very reasonably priced.The husband had the all day brunch and I had a Buddha bowl, both were beautifully presented, really tasty and extremely filling. Didn’t need anything else until well into the evening. I’ve recommended to a number of our vegan friends."

"My Favourite meal out in Brighton! A family run Thai with affordable and delicious food. The mother elder once cooked for Thai royalty. Her experience is a gem. Natalie her daughter is the friendliest waitress on the planet. It’s just one small room in George street but I’ve booked it for Birthdays many times and it can hold about 20 for a private evening. Very sadly they are retiring shortly so get there asap before they go! Papaya we love you and will miss you very much. Thanks for your wonderful food and vibes xxx"
