"We stayed in the hotel for a week and enjoyed a week of superb breakfasts and four-course evening meals. The menus are designed to showcase local suppliers and regional speciality ingredients. The chefs are extremely helpful with dietary requirements. The service is relaxed and calm and friendly. We couldn't recommend it more highly. (And I'm going to email to ask for the excellent Bircher Muesli recipe!)"

"The service was excellent. The charming maitre'd/waitress called the chef to translate the menu for us. He voluntarily went through the whole thing in a very pleasant unhurried manner - so unusual! Lovely interior, comfortable, small fire in open fireplace set into the wall. Small bowl of barley soup delicious. Could not find any plain fresh potato dish on the menu- if you're a fan of polenta this is the place for you. Prompt friendly service. Wines and food pricey. Smallish portions. Tender lamb chunks with an unremarkable sauce/gravy and potato dish, both oversalted (salt can be added at the table but not removed!) Very small but delicious vegetable portions, especially the spinach. If you can put a value on congeniality and hospitality, it's 5+; strictly value for money on what we were served 3."

"The first time we wanted to go, we didn't book and couldn't get in. On a Tuesday for lunch! In Guarda!! Fully booked!!! So the next time we made a reservation and got a table and the place was full again lunch on a Friday. Nuff said...."
