"This place was a lovely find. We've been here twice. We had a pizza, portuguese gyoza (amazing flavours! , spaghetti and ravioli. The fruit tiramisu was out of this world! A nice mixture of classic italian and portuguese flavours. Nice interior and very friendly and attentive staff. We can highly recommend this place."

"I love this restaurant so much that eating was heavenly, every bite was filled with aromen and carefree, it was like tasting the island itself, the service was really excellent, professional, fast and well executed, the only thing I did not want to leave and I absolutely loved the environment, I recommend everyone to sit down and enjoy this place, but no cakes can convey how really this is amazing cooking."

"Had dinner here tonight, had the T bone steak which was excellent, other meal was a hamburger which came with egg and ham which wasn't ordered but no problem getting it changed. Reasonable prices and would recommend."

"Yes they do a cheap meal of the day offer, which was what we wanted one evening. I booked a table. We arrived, had to stand outside waiting, even though many empty tables. Then shown into a side dark room, I said is there a better place, I have booked ... so then got taken to a nice table. Service was terribly slow, even though the staff all seemed very pleasant. Over 20 mins to order drinks, an hour for soup, 2 hours overall with far too much lack of service. The soup was ok, the main course was Bland and tasteless. The sweet I left.... not like me! There were lots of staff working, so must be lack of communication. Could have been SO much better. Hope they manage to sort it out, as staff were nice."

"I've been coming to Madeira for over 30 years while the Red Lion used to be really good, they've recently changed the feel style of the restaurant. The Espada Banana followed by a Crepe Suzette was always a firm favourite. Always followed up by a shot of your favourite tipple and a slice of Madeiran honey cake. Most of these have either changed or been dropped. The atmosphere has also changed. I would have happily given it a 4/5 before but now I can only give it a 1/5. Such a shame."

"We ate at the Tavira on a quiet Friday evening and each of us had a fish dish and a traditional soup for starter. The meal was pleasant without being memorable. Slow service despite the fact there were only four people in the restaurant. Price was average and on the evening we visited it was very quiet. The staff member who looked after us was excellent and was the reason why we stopped there. Surroundings were pleasant. Shall we be back? Not sure ........."
