"The food here is delicious. We had the chicken schnitzel, lamb cutlets, and duck legs. They were all great. The lamb was a bit fatty for my tastes, but the duck was simply amazing. Highly recommended."

"We ordered oysters for entree and they were passable but the stingy bits of dried up lemon that came with them looked like they'd been in the sun for days!!Our mains were mostly cold but ediable. The only thing that was hot was the vege's they forgot to bring out, we had to ask for them and clearly they'd forgotten and only just cooked them as they were the only thing that was hot.I'd heard good things about this place before coming and I was pretty disappointed. The food and service are no where near worth the prices they charge. Apparently this is due to new management. Wish we had eaten somewhere else"

"Great food and service. Friendly staff. Small but sufficient menu. The wine was excellent (pinot gris and reserve shiraz). Portions weren't huge, but enough. Nice dessert. The coffee was good, not great. Excellent, open, fresh atmosphere and views. I'd go back."

"We visited here as lunch stop on a full day wine tour. All the meals came out rather quickly (pre ordered) and there was plenty of food. Customer service was good. Enjoyable stop for a group of 8. (Also located next to the cellar door so we were able to do a tasting there also)."

"Excellent lunch of delicious SA produce. Start with a bubbly tasting at Chateau Yaldara, then wander over to the restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff, and pretty view. After lunch try a 20 year old and 40 year old drop of port at the Chateau. Heaven!"

"We have read previous bad reviews but chose to ignore. The food was terrible Steaks ordered as Med rare and Med both arrived well done The kids spaghetti inedible , so they survived on bread Don’t bother, very disappointing"

"So visited this resturant because it had a 4.3 rating and the pics seemed nice. Sadly, I did not have the same experience to those that gave 5 stars. I'm honestly struggling to understand based on WHAT were these 5 stars given? Maybe it's the service coz that's about all that was good. I ordered the Chefs Surprise which comprises of many different meals that chef chooses to make it's 5 course. Of those 5 courses 4 of them were vegetarian...... But I love meat : . The portion size was big but so much of food was wasted because the flavours just did NOT go. I literally had few bites and couldn't do it anymore it really wasn't good. I don't want to be mean but I don't feel like these meals were prepared by a real Chef, and if they were he/she is probably really inexperienced. Btw...... This is NOT fine dining, it's very very very far from it."

"We went here for Fathers' Day lunch. All fathers were offered a free beverage of their choice from the Kies Winery's range followed by a good selection of lunch options from the menu, not forgetting the children. The staff were pleasant and attentive, the food arrived promptly and was delicious. It was accompanied by some excellent wine. Overall a great experience, hopefully to be repeated soon. Well done to all concerned."
