"Food is diabolical not interested in constructive criticism,cream of leek soup bland and not heated through correctly ,if you like lipstick on your glass during Covid this is for you ! Menu says macaroni cheese with cheddar and mozzarella.no mozzarella but there is your body weight in cheddar on the plate which makes up for that both portions half left ,vile! Manager says no other remarks made regarding food but he needs to have a look on here ,overheard people at other table saying breakfast was a joke and terrible role on tommorow and Saturday morning.needless to say we are eating out tommorow if you had paid for this you would be irate.im no toff when it comes to food but I cook and well and this is just garbage to say the least ! Best bit was can of diet irn bru ! Here’s some reviews below I find interesting if anyone from hotel bothers to look ? Suppose if you close your eyes you don’t see the explosions going off around you !"

"I'm from Scotland in london. I was on a break. I was advised by friends living in perth. that this is the best fish and chip shop in perth! wow, I could not have been more disgusting and disappointed with the fish and chips. that I had. I was stunk when I was cut into the fish to find that it was NO fish just diligent that had been boiled over. the fish chips narrowed stale. that was not freshly cooked. the part was very minimal. I am often in Scotland and always had large standard fish chips. the one from her company was under standard I could not wait to come to london and have freshly made fish and chips."

"We stayed here for one night. Really lovely place. Family run and very friendly. Food was homemade and amazing. Room was a wee bit small but suited our needs. Spotlessly clean. We would definitely go back."

"The Hotel has run down feel to it. Bedroom was spacious but ensuite toilet had no place in modern hotel. Window frame was full of rotten wood ,shower unit falling apart , from wooden floor had wet rot around shower. Food in restaurant was good but very limited selection even with specials on board. Overall not a great experience."

"I visited this restaurant with my husband and year old son last week and we had a really lovely meal.The pub itself is beautiful, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is great. We all had the steak pie and it was so delicious. We even managed to shoehorn in a pudding each!Really nice pub shame we don't live closer!"

"Any opportunity our family have, we take trips to Scotland, driving the 8 hours from Wales, knowing we will find a warm welcome everywhere we go. The hospitality of the Scots, together with spectacular scenery and great food make it well worth the journey. In all those years we have never felt unwelcome until we went into the Kirkstyle Inn, Dunning. It is obviously frequented by locals, a local place for local people. They were very busy and there were no tables available inside for dinner so we decided to go into their covered beer garden for drinks and pizza. There were occupied tables to our left and right, both having food, but when we went to order they told us they were not serving food outside. This obviously wasn’t true because everyone around us was eating, without a reservation. This upset the table next to us, so much so, that one of the diners went inside to fight our corner and ask why they wouldn’t serve us food. At that point some large lady came into the beer garden and said the food served outside had been a mistake but we could not have food. She was rude and belligerent. No apology for clearly only feeding favourite customers. We were definitely victimised here, for no reason I can think of. We didn’t make a fuss, just drank up and left. It was so nice of other customers to express their disappointment at how we were treated. I would never recommend this place to visitors. Go at your own risk! They clearly have a captive audience in a small village with no other pubs around. It’s sad they think as a result of their monopoly they can choose to be so dismissive of the people who provide their living. My background is hospitality, hotel management and I can honestly say the customers are our valued bread and butter, never a hindrance. For info we are a couple in our 60s (one celebrating his 60th) adult daughter and fiancé. So disappointing and clearly not the norm for this wonderful part of the world."
