"We have dined here several times. It is a unique setting for this area. Once you get in the atmosphere is great. It's like a big pool party ( with no one n the pool). The have wonderful music. Food is very good. We like the steak. Hard to get good steak in Melaque. Recommend to anyone."

"We stopped in a Ava's, now called Jack and Ava's for our first try, for lunch. The server Grice (sp? was pleasant. The room/building is comfortale,with a high palapa roof with several fans keeping the air moving. We started with guacamole, which was okay, but the chips served with it were very greasy. I had vegetarian quesadillas which was again very greasy. I must thank them for making these as they are not a regular menu item. My wife had the tortilla soup sopa de azteca. The soup includes ribbons of tortilla again these were greasy. Other than this the soup was okay topped with the usual suspects avocado and sour cream. Jack and Ana's is okay if you are in the neighborhood but you may want to ask the server to ask the chef to go easy on the oil."

"We've tried every restaurant and tacqueria in Melaque and Barra and the one we keep coming back to is Chez Cedric. First of all, the thin crusted pizza is as good or better than anything you can find in the States. But that's not all. Their upsacale pescado dishes such as Tuna (Atun),Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Red Snapper and Lenguado are to die for. The chef and waiters listen to your request relative to such things as degree of doneness and the consistently hit the nail on the head. I.e. rare is rare and well don is well done - and everything at Chez Cedric is well done!!"

"Marcela moved to a new location this year 2017. She was previously at The Patio. She brought her chef with her ( she's dynamite with a great personality). The restaurant is located on " taco row" on the second floor. Stairs are located inside the flower shop. Is the most interesting setting in the area. Not your typical palapa it has a wooden roof with great spans of lumber. Have seen nothing like it here.So, the best part is the food. We have had the dorado, ribeye ( yes it is possible to get a true medium rare steak here, everywhere else it is overdone no matter how you asked for it) , shrimp, pastas, lasagna and also breakfast/ brunch served fri,sat,sun. I personally love the "Alice breakfast( named after her mother)"
