"While looking for another Chinese restaurant we came across Smilies and we're pleasantly surprised when we tried it for dinner. During the day, they have a buffet but in the evening you order off the menu. The decor is nothing special and typical of a strip mall type restaurant. We ordered three dishes along with steamed rice. Everything was fresh, very tasty, and the vegetables still crispy. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. Overall, I would say we made an excellent choice in trying Smilies and would definitely go back."

"Authentic Szechuan food; spicy and very tasty. If your order chili chicken or spicy prawn, don't freak out when you see a plater full of red pepper. The location and decor is not the best but it makes up for the excelled service and flavorful food. The proprietor moved from China about 7 years ago and has not compromised the traditional Chinese cooking. Please order spicy prawns, you will love it!"

"Been coming here on and off for over 15 years. I love.coming in on Saturday for my hangover Chinese buffet. I have never had a problem with the food. I.love the chicken balls and the steamed rice! It's your typical western style Chinese buffet. Delivery is also nice. Open late, food arrives fresh and warm. The owners are also super nice and go the extra.mile. we usually.get something extra put into our takeout bag by the owners. Love this place!"

"For the first time from this restaurant. The food was very fresh and delicious. General portions and the most expensive Chinese food I had for a long time. Each meat used was tender and not fat. Lemon chicken was easily scattered with lots of chicken inside. I'm definitely back."

"I went to this restaurant probably about 10 years ago and recall having a decent lunch. however, i had delivery about 1 year ago. it was delivered hot but was only medicore. then, we went for lunch recently. my mother uses a walker and i felt like we were sat in a corner table back by the kitchen so that we'd be "out of the way". we ordered water with no ice and were served hot water in very old scratched up glasses. the service was extremely poor and staff were very unfriendly. the lunch special portions were ridiculously large but it had very little meat and almost all rice. i enjoyed the sauce they had on my schwechan pork and on my vegetables but when i asked for a take home box, they just dumped it all together so rice was mixed in with everything and all the sauces just got mixed together and visually, it was very unappetizing, very disappointing and ended up throwing it out. i don't think i'd ever take anyone back there. too bad because they have been there forever and prices aren't too bad. the soup that they served - chicken noon which i thought was very strange for a chinese retaurant and the hot and sour soup was not very good."

"Pearl River is my favorite Chinese food restaurant of ALL TIME! Staff are friendly and the food delicious! Chinese tacos are a great appetizer to start and the deep fried milk is the perfect ending to a fabulous meal! Everything else in between is scrumptious!"

"Definately great upgrades on the floor tiles so we dont slip anymore but even if the floor was slippery we would have to go for our hainam chicken on rice or the great wonton noodle soup."

"Ordered last night and food was huge let down, the veggies were soft, the pork dumpling was so salty could not eat it, the pork was fatty that was in the house special greens, the honey garlic ribs were pieces of dried out pork dripped in sauce, all around disappointed and for the cost of food today we certainly wont' be ordering from there any more. Location was on 6552 170 Avenue NW"

"I've been here many times and have NEVER been dissatisfied. Coco the lead reception/ Server is absolutely the best and knows the menu inside out. I have to say your pallet will sizzle with delight on any item you would try. This is the best place for Asian food. The blended fusion and spices are delicately fused to make you want to come here again. I can't say enough about this awesome place."
