"We all love Cantonais, and Szechuan food so we went to the Kan Bai because it was recommended to us. The restaurant has a great selection of dishes to try. The service was fast, friendly, and very professional. We had a number of dishes, but I was particularly impressed with the roast duck, and the pork ribs. In fact everyone commented on how good the ribs were. There was lots of food and it was served to us very quickly. We started with the won ton shrimp soup, a large bowl for four. It was great. I can not remember all the dishes we had, the steamed vegetables were great, but you must be careful because they were hot. Once again I must say that the roast duck and the pork ribs were great. When we go to this part of Old Montreal again, we will stop at the Kan Bai for a meal.I recommend the Restaurant Kan Bai to anyone looking for a great lunch or dinner.Rick B. Kemptville"

"Looking for some heat on a frigid evening, we stepped into Jean's looking for some warmth. The host and owner, Val -- a Trinidadian -- was warm, gracious and a superb cook. She recommended trying a roti (chicken) and a chicken curry plate (rice and steamed vegetables in season), which we shared as a couple. Although the flavours were vibrant, authentic (stellar bonnet sauce!) and the meal fulfilling, we both felt that $17 for the plate was too much. The roti at $9 was a competitive price and a sizeable portion, shared by two.There was a steady stream of local patrons (people working and living in NDG nearby) that kept her busy. Her parting words to us were "I'll be here forever, if the landlord doesn't raise the rent!""

"We wanted take out Chinese and found this on a google map search. The restaurant was in a small strip mall on the edget of town. Service was quick and efficient, they offered us water while we waited. There was seating available if you wanted to eat in, the place was clean and pleasant. Ordered two dinners which lasted dinner and lunch the next day. Very tasty and just what we were looking for."
