"We went in a big group with friends who visit this place often. The restaurant is a no frills kind of place but clean. It was very crowded on a sun at 12.30 pm but we had reserved a table in advance. We had a variety of dim sum , the siu mai was very good. The fried rice was amazing."

"Tried Regal for dimsum lunch. We arrived with only another party in line, there were several empty tables. A family of 6 enter, and they talk to the hostess and are seated right away, talk about discrimination. Anyway dimsum is ordered from a menu, there are no carts wandering around . The shrimprice roll, tasteless; sticky rice barely had any meat, har gow was fine;turnip cake with XO sauce, nothing special. Best part was dessert, papaya and custard cake was great and so was the sesame balls. Noticed on the menu they had several branches. Either way, I would not go back to this establishment as there are a lot of better tasting chinese restaurants."

"This is the more confusing restaurant experience ever. To be fair, it looks like this was the first time they had a full house since the pandemic and it really showed. They had switched to takeout only for quite a while, and it was evident they were very unaccustomed to in person dining. We came in as a party of 7 and got seated at one of 2 large tables. We waited around awkwardly for a while for some sort of service: water, a menu, anything? We managed to flag down one of the elusive servers to get a menu and tea. They told us ordering from the menu via the staff at the restaurant is cash only, but you can pay credit card if you order via their online menu for pick up to your table. We all ordered via online menu since we didn't have cash. After ordering, we got a confirmation email informing us the wait time is about 45 mins, which is...a really long time. We were worried because apparently the restaurant closes at 7pm on a Saturday, and it was already 6:30pm at that point. Luckily, the closing time is more so for the kitchen, the actually dine in is open until 8:30pm. One of the items we ordered online was out, so they were going to refund us. Bad news is, the refund will process in 3 5 business days...I guess we'll see if we get that refund. We got 1 pot of tea for our table of 7 and we actually weren't able to pour enough tea for all the cups. We had to ask for refills quite often, like every 10 mins. They couldn't give us a second pot because they ran out. At this point, one of the staff came around to our table to apologize for some of the disorganization, which was nice. He also came to confirm our table's orders, but one of the online orders seemed to have gotten lost. He went back to check his system, and we could see he was visibly confused while searching. Luckily, the order was found. We didn't get utensils to eat with until about 5 mins after the first 2 dishes arrived. We were actually starting to wonder if they ran out of utensils or something. The utensils were a little suspicious tbh, there were small black specks on it that we wiped off and prayed for the best. Our dishes started trickling in after about 25 30 mins. They gave us all our mains and it was a while before the appetizers arrived. I had to ask for the milk tea I ordered because we were almost done eating and it wasn't here yet. The staff apologized for the wait and began to make it right away. The laksa noodle soup bowl came sort of lukewarm. It was just the right temperature for me to eat I don't do will with hot foods but it means it would cool quite quickly. The coconut really came through the soup and it was very flavourful with just the right amount of spice. The hainanese chicken doesn't look like the rice is chicken flavoured rice. I can't tell if they ran out of that and just gave us plain rice. The char kway teow noodles were very broken, all the noodles were like 1 inch max. I'm a little disappointed they weren't noodles, but more like long rice grains. It was sort of bland. There were a total of 2 shrimp in them too... The Hainanese chicken rice set was super bland. If it wasn't for the 3 small sauces, it would literally have like no taste. Would recommend pouring the small soup right onto the rice for some much needed flavour. The calamari was indeed freshly fried. The outside batter was lightly crispy and the squid tentacles were just right! Totally not overcooked tough, but a nice bite. The teh tarik milk tea was very sweet, which I do enjoy but try not to drink too often lol the tea is not as strong as I'm used to, but it's a nice sugary drink if that's what you're into. However, I would have preferred a stronger tea taste. Some folks said that the free tea was the best part of the meal..."

"We enjoyed the dim sum. We had duck, rice noodle with beef and shrimp, sticky rice, shrimp wonton, Cantonese noodles, and pork dumplings. Everything was delicious and came quickly. Emerald Chinese Restaurant is the only place I will order duck!"
