"I guess all surprises are unexpected, but this one especially so. We drive by this restaurant every day on the way home from wherever. But for the first time tonight, we went with a group and came away so impressed. Many had the shrimp tacos, kind of baked flour wrap thingy filled with all kinds of good stuff. I had the garlic shrimp, expecting, well, I didn't know what to expect. When the waitress brought the dish to the table, I thought, "wow what is that, and who ordered it". Beautiful presentation like I've not had in a long time, and just as tasty. I'm not a big ceviche guy, but that looked good as well. This is kind of a roadhouse type of place that you'd never expect to have seafood, sushi, and ceviche. Next door you can get ribs and burgers, operated by the same owners and you can order off of either menu in either place. If this was in centro, the rating would be top ten."

"This restaurant rocks! We arrived a bit early to the restaurant and we were greeted by two lovely ladies whom were handing out welcome glasses of sparkling wine. We can tell they were busy, and doing the best they could to make everyone comfortable. The...food is delicious and the presentation is absolutely beautiful. We came for the unique Christmas menu that will make your taste buds do a happy dance. I'm not kidding. It's so good The service is phenomenal. They had the best attitudes and always happy to see us. We had an amazing experience! Highly recommended!"

"This is Japanese home cooking at its finest. This is a tiny restaurant and take-out joint with about 4 cramped tables. But the food is exquisite. There are generally about 15 dishes to choose from. Combine whatever you want into a bento. We always get four items. The price is ridiculous, less than 3 pesos a dish. No typo. The dishes change daily, but here's a sample: pasta salad with miso and tahini dressing, hijiki with carrots, shrimp hand rolls, seasoned rice in tofu skin with shiitake mushrooms (my fav), spinach salad (more complicated and flavorful than the std ohitashi), vegetable tempura, fried rice balls, shrimp balls, fish cakes, miso soup, green curry, you get the idea. You can eat like a king for less than $5. It's a miracle. And so much more interesting than one of the standard sushi restaurants that all have pretty much the same menu. If you hanker for Japanese food in San Miguel, do not miss this little place. It's only open 12-6, closed on Tuesdays and every other Monday."

"There are so many good restaurants in San Miguel that focus on mexican Modern and traditional cuisine that this restaurant is out of place. Suchi is acceptable, Japanese classics like sushi rolls and tempura are barely acceptable but in the end you DON'T come to San Miguel to eat sushi!!!!!We came here just to try it out (I love asian food) and left with what we expected, a restaurant out of place."
