"A highly disappointing meal and certainly feeling scammed after this experience. Their meat products are skimpy and without quality in portion or preparation. Far too much celery as a filler, which is shameful. Of all the items I’ve ordered, barely any carrots, not even onions were found; canned mushrooms??? Really upsetting, considering they’re charging you good money. The final burn was the so-called “Spring Rolls” being filled only with bean sprouts. Here’s what I ordered:1. Cantonese Chow Main, which had scarcely any shrimps, no squid, some pieces of corn and full of celery. The noodles were drowned in a starch slurry… not even a proper sauce… $18.952. Beef with Broccoli, which had more broccoli than meat. All drowned in water, so it was soggy. No garlic. Not even ginger. $16.953. Chicken fried rice but hardly any chicken in it. Tons of rice. $11.954. “Sweet and Sour” Ribs, which aren’t even ribs. They’re deep-fried breaded bones… I was told they’re Spareribs, but that was a lie. All of which were drowned in your typical sweet red sauce. $11.505. “Mixed Vegetables” which contained more celery than anything, some snap peas and a few pieces of corn and broccoli. $11.506. Spring rolls that weren’t even filled with anything other than bean sprouts… the audacity to charge $2.75 per piece.All in all, I will never order from this place again.Absolutely absurd."

"Our family eats here on a regular basis. My kids very much like chinese food so this place fills there needs. They have an assorted dinner for 4 that we like. They have never disappointed. You can not dine in. It is either pick-up or deliery."

"Without a doubt the best Chinese food for 100s of miles. My family has been patronizing the restaurant since it opened.Never had a bad meal not even an average one it’s always excellent quality service value can’t be beat... I’m surprised by any complaints perhaps...you just don’t know good fresh food when you taste it. Keep up the great work Paul!"

"When there for an early dinner at 4pm. The hostess said they're not seating anyone because they had a private party at 8pm. Ok in 4 hours, right? We asked if we could sit at the bar, that was a no. We were a couple, and there were 2 other couples at the front desk who were also turned away. Hungry and bummed we left.Thankfully the couple in front of us told us about another similar place called The Avenue on Bellamy Road. We all went there, greeted by our waiter who was new, seated right away and received a cold beer right away. The menu seemed small, but the dishes were full of flavour. Our friendly waiter recommended some fan favs and we ordered a table full of dishes. Everything was fresh and cooked well, tasted yummy, cold beer and a nice low key vibe. And oh, you must try The Avenue's BBQ duck. We ordered a half and it was way too much. But be careful of the pepper sauce, it's hot (and i like it hot). Will definitely go back there. Thanks to the couple that recommended this place. I think I'm just over the typical rude attitude and lack of service at Island Mix. After a while all IM dishes taste the same, you know what I mean."

"Red house is my go-to Thai place when Im home in Pickering. I always get green curry chicken. Lunch item is smaller and comes with 2 spring rolls. Always quick and fresh and the orders are always exactly as ordered. All options are very affordable."
