"Surprisingly good!. A friend and I decided to visit the Chef 's House for the Monday Cajun Day Lunch Special on 8/20/12. The special thing this day was something called Shrimp Stew and garlic bread with a side salad and side dish made of yellow squash and onions. We really like shrimps prepared a number of possibilities, but had never heard of a shrimp stone and were a little skeptical as it would taste, but decided to try it anyway, since everything else we have ever ordered in the kitchen was so delicious. Wow! I'm here to tell you that Shrimp Stew served over rice was absolutely wonderful! The shrimps were medium to large with a tomato stew base full of peppers, onions and other delicious herbs with just enough to satisfy the taste buds. The yellow squash and onion side dish literally melted in the mouth! The side salad was a delight with fresh salad, carrots, cabbage and tomato wedges, especially when I made the cook Thousand Island Dressing, which I had asked to be served on the side. The fresh garlic bread was just right to make sure that I could get every drop of this wonderful stew! I really enjoy a good dessert, but my hunger was satisfied after eating this fantastic lunch special. The Dessert case made me aware anyway. Mama's dessert offerings this day included a strawberry Custard cake, beautiful apple cake, double chocolate cheesecake and hummingbird cake in addition to some cookies and fruit peels. One of my hobbies feeds and observes hummingbirds on the back porch, but I had never heard of a hummingbird cake. It looked safe as if it were delicious and a taste sample was made available by owner Amelia Anderson. That's it, I was dressed! Although I was not hungry at the moment, I knew that cake would make a really tasty afternoon with my hot tea or coffee and left the restaurant with a draw-out container of hummingbird cake to enjoy on the back porch while watching the hummingbirds this afternoon. Yep, this Hummingbird cake surely tasted good with a cup of coffee on the porch in the afternoon!"

"Something bad happened to the chocolate bar not only that prices went up and they made soMe limitation with the side salad choices (when picking an entree but the food is actually very bad . I don’t think I have had chicken from a can but that’s how it tasted so I left it on the plate (the waitress didn’t find it odd and hadn’t asked anything . My colleagues had the steak burger with mash and said it was also bad and so was the salmon. I guess this will be the last time we visit the chocolate bar , sadly"

"I stopped here after getting after attending an event at the CSU convocation center. After year's of living in Cleveland, I stopped for the first time. Good bar food; wing's, a dinner salad, and a full bar. Amiable staff. Traditional style, classic bar atmosphere. I felt a nice vibe here. Unpretentious and friendly. I will visit again."

"We were looking for a good diner and ranch hand cafe fit the bill perfectly! The decor is enchanting, the food is amazing, the restaurant is clean and the staff is over friendly and welcoming. I loved it when we went into the door her Christmas village was warm and welcoming. Wanted to join a friendhouse for a meal. I had the Hawaiian grilled chicken dinner and my husband had the Ultimate chicken dinner. Both were excellent! The fried corn-Nuggets were made just like my grandmother earlier and so fresh! Your oil is fresh and clean! We'll be back."

"Cute homey atmosphere and a variety of vegan options! We ordered the tofu bahn mi and the tofu curry. The tofu is breaded which gives it a nice crispy texture. I think it could've been nice if the curry was served with rice but it was still tasty. Would come again!"

"Frog legs were served with the garlic burnt and not in butter. This was markedly different from the first experience. The salad greens were wilty. The steak was perfectly prepared, but the server was inattentive. We were heading to a conference so we had to take it as is. Otherwise, I would have sent things back to the kitchen."
