"Great authentic Sonoran style Mexican dining! The margarita was the best I have tasted here in town as well. My test plate is always enchiladas...if the server doesn't bring it out sizzling hot and the red chile sauce is orange instead of red, I never go back. They passed the test! However, the queso dip is better when I make it. I use a fresh rue, with cream and white cheeses, but they did have jalapeños in it so it was okay. It's just that they use a fake or canned queso yellow cheese base. So that is why they got a 4 star instead of 5 star rating. Oh, and the server was excellent."

"Food is very tasty. I had the beef chimichanga and I thought it was pretty good. Also the pricing is very reasonable. The platter for chimichanga was $11. This place is in the heart of downtown DC so it's hard to get a better deal than that. I was there at the time that they were going to close and most of the clientele that time are people at the bar. I noticed many people coming and going with their takeout orders and those sitting at the bar. All 100% Mexican it"

"El Centro DF is a great spot on 14th — though it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Inside and upstairs! , there is a tequileria and a taqueria, where you can get tacos inside, or to go. Apparently, there is also a rooftop bar, but my party didn’t venture up there on our first stop. The decor is funky, but not distracting, though I can certainly see this place packing people in on the weekends. Our waitress was welcoming and knowledgeable — a good combination. The food was quite good. El Centro DF seems to make a concerted effort to have a lot going on — Nacho Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, and good happy hour deals. Our luck, we came during a guacamole festival, and couldn’t resist a sampler. We ordered it mild, and it came with three different guacamoles on mini toastadas. Norteno used chicharron, picked onion, salsa fresco, serrano, queso fresco, and roasted corn. The Sur included grasshoppers ! , tomatillos, cotija cheese, onion, and chile cascabel. The grasshopper seemed a little stale, but that may because I didn’t eat it right away, and it soaked up juice from the guac. The Pacifico had grilled beet, roasted walnut, queso fresco, and diced orange. They were also served with three salsas. Overall, very tasty. I can’t resist a tamale, so it was appetizers for dinner, for me. The Chicken Tinga Tamales were served with avocado and sweet chipotle sauce — it tasted almost like a sweet taco sauce. Very enjoyable. I washed it down with a Kiwi Margarita, which I was excited about, but didn’t match up to expectations. It was a good margarita, but the kiwi was overpowered by the lime, so the kiwi really only added texture. All in all, a good meal. I’ll be going there again, and venturing to the rooftop bar!"
