"We were on a day out and as we passed through Worksop we looked for a chippy. Conveniantly we were able to park outside the Cypriana Fish Chip shop. My wife came back to the car with the chips and fish all attractivily boxed. The food was a delight, the fish had beautiful light batter and had large flaked cod, perfectly, the chips were almost chunky and were spot on, good colour and crispy fry, and potato was not greasy. The addition of a wedge of lemon and I would have been happy to pay restaurent prices. Shame we don't live in Worksop."

"Went for afternoon tea. £25 for two people. Poor start to the experience, we asked the girl serving us some basic questions about the menu and she couldn 't answer a single one, so she checked with another member of staff, this happened 4 times and eventually she gave up and sent over the other member of staff and we finally ordered. The afternoon tea consisted of 1 sandwich each (cut into 3 fingers) so only 1 flavour each (I had egg, my husband had salmon and cream cheese) hardly a selection of sandwiches as per the menu. 1 small cherry scone each with jam and cream (whipped not clotted) and 3 very small petit fours each. For £25 I would have expected a lot more food, perhaps a slice of cake (they had tonnes of homemade cakes on the counter which looked nice). Food was very basic, the egg mayo was just that, no cress etc. Salmon and cream cheese had very little filling. Cherry scone was bland and stodgy in the middle. Petit fours were small and nothing exciting. Overall for what we had I would have only paid around £10 £15 max. The man who eventually served us was a very pleasant guy, and he seemed a little embarrassed by our response to the lack of food, he did offer to get the chef to make us some additional sandwiches if needed. The place was very quite and I felt like the other guests were starring at us so I didn 't want to make a scene so rather than take him up on the offer we paid up and left. This was meant to be a special treat to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary, but instead we were left disappointed and hungry."

"Can't speak highly enough of the venue, the staff, the catering and the wonderful setting. Staff couldn't have done more to make it a day to remember.....and they looked after the guests who have Coeliac Disease requiring a gluten free diet with real care and knowledge about it. Wonderful day."

"Those who are claiming that this place provides quality food and facilities must be mistaken. The interior is reminiscent of a 1970s transport caff vinyl tablecloth topped tables, vinyl plywood tubular metal chairs, scruffy threadbare carpets and all that. I ordered a large full English breakfast and a tea. The service was cheerful enough but rather basic. The mug of tea was brewed in front of me teabag in a mug, water added from a kettle, with the bag stirred and pressed just enough to extract the brown colour (about 10 seconds and topped off with a splosh of milk. Brown milky water for £1. The breakfast was substantial two of everything but the quality poor. Eggs, which carried black residue from a clearly overused frying pan, economy bacon, rusky sausage (two cut in half lengthways so it looked like four on the plate! and runny budget baked beans, accompanied by white margarined toast. It would have also come with tomatoes but when I asked if these could be substituted with mushrooms (tomatoes and mushrooms served as an added extra are the same price 50p on the menu I was told that they don 't do substitutions, so tomatoes were simply left off. Apparently, what is stated on the menu is what you have to have, take it or leave it. Effectively, by not having the tomatoes I paid £7.50 for a £7 breakfast. So, £8.50 in total for something that I could get as a common special offer at a branded service station for £6.95. Not good. I must also warn of the toilets (scrawled notice Customers Only! . They stank of stagnant urine, the walls and floor were wet with huge areas of broken or missing tiles and the flush on the toilet I used was heavily corroded and, I found, broken anyway. My advice drive a few extra miles it 'll be worth it!"

"Just tried out The Hideaway with friends, what a great little place. Food is very good and lots of it, great background music but not too loud that you can’t have a conversation. Staff polite and enthusiastic. Would return and will recommend."

"We went here for Sunday lunch and it was really delicious. The previous reviews don't do it justice. The belly pork was really tender and melted in the mouth. I had a burger playing safe based on previous reviews but no need and had serious...food envy of others! However, the burger was really tasty, in a fresh ciabatta with the perfect amount of chips (I swapped shoestring fries as I much prefer chunky chips and this was no bother). The service was very attentive without being too much. The toilets were immaculately clean too. The only thing letting them down was the ambience but I imagine this is because others have read the reviews and avoided but their loss! Sadly we don't live locally otherwise we would return!"
