"Even though this place is on our doorstep I've never visited before recently, possibly because it is located on A6. I have now been twice in two days. Well placed for a walk up onto Cromford Moor. Lots of lovely homemade cakes, simple but well done snack menu. I had the ginger and lime cheesecake, the parsnip soup was lovely and the children loved their hot chocolates and bacon butties. Good quality coffee too. Very friendly staff and a roaring fire. Will definitely make this a regular thing."

"In a very packed Bakewell, in our staycation season, this place is a hidden oasis. Well worth booking the afternoon tea in advance. Absolutely fabulous and really lovely friendly service. There is also an excellent little quirky shop in the courtyard full of interesting souvenirs to take home"

"Delicious brownies for us and the coffees were top notch too. The children’s chocolate milkshakes were generous servings but a little too sweet. Slightly slow service but well priced."

"The owner was incredibly friendly, the service first rate and to camouflage it the best bakewell we ever had. opened early, when he expected us, all that and with a view of the dead, worth a visit, not disappointed and we traveled from lincoln."

"This place caught my eye from far! It was the name and the red. Very cosy and warm inside, they have vegetarian vegan options, coffee tastes great, they use biodegradable cups, paper straws and staff are ever so chirpy and friendly. It was open after 5pm. I don't know if that was luck or if it's usually open that late. Most Cafes, coffee shops, tea-rooms in the area close by 3-4pm in winter. Lavatory isn't too clean unfortunately."
