"If you miss the days of cafés that sold a good old English fry up for breakfast, then this is the place for you. Excellent options and where else can you get liver to go with your gutbuster break? Haven't tried the lunch/dinner menu yet but if the breakfast is anything to go by, I guess I'm in for another hearty feast! Quality food, friendly staff and a nice community atmosphere that's lacking in today's English society. Highly recommended."

"We came here for a date night and had such a lovely time, we were seen to our table with drinks and poppadoms served quickly. The food was delicious, with good sized portions and good value for money. We will be back!"

"Just had The Village Cafes new fish and chips. The fish was really fresh, flaky and white with great batter. Chips were not made from fresh potatoes but chunky frozen chips but still nice. Would recommend this new dish. Cost is £8 for medium and £9.40 for large."

"The best curries. sometimes can wait long, as long as the water. always comes hot and very tasty. they love the free popadoms given and I love that they are not with the chickens that are so tender."

"My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice cafe for lunch and found this gem. Instantly we were welcomed and made to feel at home by the lovely owners, Philip and Anke. A brilliant selection of drinks, lunch time treats and cakes their...smashed avocado on Rye bread was absolutely delicious! So happy we found this gorgeous cafe, would throughly recommend. Rare to feel so welcomed in a cafe, and we really appreciated it. We will definitely be coming back in the future"

"We spotted Peggotys as we walked past coming back at 2:15pm and ready to eat, we climbed the stairs to be confronted by a chain and a wireless doorbell. We rang it and waited, then were told by a member of staff that there was a five minute wait and we were left standing on the stairs, looking at an empty table ahead. Another staff member came up the stairs, unclipped the chain, re attached it and walked through without acknowledging us. It’s not The Ivy! What a shame if we’d been shown to a table and given a menu, or even allowed to sit, we’d have stayed but we are now eating elsewhere…"

"We really enjoyed the setting and the domes look great. The roast beef was good but our request for it to be 'as rare as possible ' was ignored. Generally a lovely place, building and outside terrace. However, on the down side, this quality was badly let down by cheap, peeling, warped melamine tables inside, especially in the sun when the white surfaces were blinding. The outside tables are so much nicer; why not use those inside as well? And the forks are really uncomfortable to use and feel really cheap! Please could we have some well designed tables and cutlery of a quality to match the building? Finally, perhaps the inexperienced waiters should be encouraged to see who is trying to catch their attention! We hope these comments are helpful and look forward to a return visit."

"It is difficult to find parking near the sea. tbh we stumbled over a small parking lot. there was a nice day for us. there were a few people who enjoy the coastal hike. it does not seem to be sea side amenities."

"Couldn't have asked for better staff. Everyone that worked there lovely especially the main man that served us with the cats. I wouldn't have the hunters chicken but then chicken is very hard to get right. Apart from that all the food and wine was lovely definitely will be going back."
