"It used to be humorously said that in Ireland, if you can boil water you can cook. I 'm not sure that the chef, if there is a chef, got that far, having stagnated at the 'use lots of mayonnaise ' lesson. The fish chowder had quite a lot of tasty fish in it, almost as much as corn starch. The open prawn sandwich had a generous packet of defrosted cooked shrimp covered in an an industrial shrimp cocktail sauce, while the coleslaw was screaming for help, drowning is a sea of industrial mayonnaise. The salad came with a small amount of commercial dressing. The coffee was good. The service is genuinely friendly and the location, especially outside on a nice day, is great. I would have preferred to write a nicer review, but considering what I was served it was impossible."

"We stayed for a weekend in October and let’s just say this bar deserves more positive reviews the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating, They get to know the regular customers as you can see them greeting them by name and chatting with people which is great to see! Carvery was delicious for a great value Afternoon Tea was spot on Emma was excellent served me like a Queen! The highlight of our trip really !Great selection on the drinks menu, service was great will definitely be returning"

"After a walk around the place, it is reassuring to head towards the tea room. Smartly turned out, with fine coffee and tea and some truly delicious cakes. This was a class act I would recommend a visit to the abbey to ensure you visit the tea room. Service was okay but in truth the whole experience was wonderful. Go visit by hook or by crook.,"
