"My wife and I visited Pizza Hut whilst shopping at the centre. We waited inline and they took our order in a friendly, socialable and courteous manner. The food was quickly placed on trays and we took our drinks and food to clean, tidy tables. We do not go often, but if this is the usual, we would certainly go again.Pizza Hut may not be a restaurant to linger for hours, but as a working class alternative to a fish chips cafe, it does offer a fast food service with a smile. I realise that staff change and service can go down, but on the visit of this review, it was a worthwhile place to eat and we would go back again.Overall, I would rate it as five star and believe it could not have done better on my visit. However, it was during the week, not at a weekend, and the place was not full, so it could make a difference."

"Absolutely loved this quiet little tea house just around the corner from the Minister just up from the main shops; an ideal location. Most options were vegan on the mains menu, nearly all drinks could be made vegan most of the cakes on the daily cakes board were also vegan...so many options it was hard to choose! I got the tofu teriyaki mayo donburi bowl (with miso soup of course! which was super tasty a really good size portion, then I couldn't resist a vegan matcha blondie, which was yummy, although I think you'd have to be a bit of a matcha addict like me to appreciate it. Will definitely be going again. Edit (04/02/22 Was super excited to hear they were doing a Veganuary 3 course set menu it did not disappoint! For a very fair £20, we had the most delicious traditional Japanese food unlike anything else I've ever tasted. For mains I had the Umami spaghetti; was better than any Italian pasta I've ever had! And for dessert the matcha zenzai, which was so bizarre to me, but really nice (though as in my previous review, I'm just a teeny bit biased towards matcha things! Would definitely recommend actually they're running the Veganuary menu into March so still plenty of time to try it! Updated from previous review on 2021-12-09"

"Good delicious as always- but undoubtedly the staff are among the best in the business. They don’t do customer service they do customer care- and it’s second to none. I am always particularly impressed by the attention to detail of the younger team members, who are bright and engaging. Today Billy was no exception living up to the high standards of his colleagues"

"Superb! So many lovely dishes on the menu that we had to come back the following night so that we could try more. Nothing disappointed. Food was excellent and so was the service. If you have never had tapas before, order a few dishes, eat them and then order more. The staff are happy for you to do this and makes the meal more enjoyable. Spend as long as you want and savour the food. Try a sherry flight, excellent value for money, goes well with tapas."

"Yes, it's ridiculously expensive. If you just want a quick cup of coffee, there are many other coffee shops in York that will sort you out. However, if you want a long, leisurely cup of tea with the traditional sandwiches (crusts cut off, of course) and cakes, then Bettys is the place for you! I went for afternoon tea with a large group of friends, and it was the perfect place. We put on our pretty dresses, and very much enjoyed the whole experience. The food was wonderful I had open-topped sandwiches that had considerably more filling than bread, the scones were fresh and came with plenty of jam and clotted cream, and delicious cakes which included a really yummy raspberry tart. We sat upstairs which was really light and airy, and we didn't feel like we were in a goldfish bowl at all. Someone was playing the piano at the end of the room, it took us a little while before we realised that they were playing Disney songs and songs from musicals! It made us smile, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience"
