"I love my Indian takeaway, but it must be quality. After I moved to Ashgrove 4 years ago, I have been regularly moved by Sitar Express. The food is..."

"Friend and I took our time choosing this restaurant, passing by the Karma Nepalese/Indian restaurant and several other tempters along the way.
Bad move.
The menu is impressive, the service is pleasant and polite, the surroundings are average of any no book/walk in place - and the pricing seems reasonable...until your order comes!
One Chicken Korma - which actually was about 6 cubes of pre cooked tough stringy gristly chewy chicken, chucked into a boat shaped dish full of sauce. The 'free rice' soaked up the runny bland sauce nicely.
One Goan Fish dish - said to be Nile Perch. Never had iodine tasting Nile Perch before! Mullet yes, iodine. The 6 cube Goan version was dry and crunchy as though it had been sizzled mercilessly over an open flame for way too long. The so called Tamarind sauce with the secret spices was more like Black and Gold Tomato paste with a bit of Balsamic Vinegar chucked in to loosen it up.
Again the pseudo saffron rice sucked the mess up nicely.
The Aloo Naan - mashed spud stuffed pocket bread Indian style was really delicious.
So. If you want a nice Naan go to the Taj Mahal.
If you want a great Indian meal and a great naan where you pay for your rice....go somewhere else!!!"

"Simply awesome Indian! Ok the interior is strange but that only adds to the adventure to get you into the spirit for Brisbanes best Indian. I love it. Not only is the food great the staff have always been so super friendly. Naans are cooked in a proper wood fired tandoor. The best Indian. A must try!"

"I've been ordering Halim's through uber eats. The curries are aromatic and flavorful, unlike a lot of the other vaguely scentless curries I commonly find elsewhere. They always arrive hot via uber eats. I managed to take photos today before diving straight in. The curry buffet spread in the photo includes vegetable dhal, eggplant curry, lamb biryani, palak paneer, and chicken dhal. I also received a small container of raita. Normally, each curry is accompanied by a container of rice. I just got 2 containers of rice with my 4 curries today. I've queried this with uber eats and hope to find out what the deal is soon."

"My friend and I went to Sultans Kitchen for dinner on a Wednesday night at 6:30. We brought a bottle of wine and had heard good things so we were looking forward to it. We got in and it was almost entirely empty so the older man who was the server and seemed to be in charge said we could sit wherever. I'll attempt to be brief; the man serving us was the major letdown. He chucked some wine glasses on the table and said "You're okay to open it?" as he walked away. My friend and I tried to have a quick catch up over wine but within 15 minutes he had brusquely come back twice, the second time rudely telling us to look at the menu now. Considering the poor service we assumed the $20 curries must come with rice so as to not be totally overpriced; we asked him and he laughed and smirkingly told us they didn't. The curries came out and were honestly shockingly small, the bowl was barely the size of my hand. But I will say the food was good, and I did enjoy the actual meal aspect of the experience. Still, there are more than enough delicious Indian restaurants around Brisbane that I won't be going back."

"I'm sorry to say, but it wasn't good to eat. I can say if I eat fresh or not. I ordered biryani and it was not prepared on the same day. the chicken biryani should not have inherited in it and it felt like I had given veg biryani and they simply mixed it with huh. Even that would have been good if there was any taste to the court. I couldn't find any aromes in the biryani that cost my dollar. so expensive and so bad I would not recommend this place."
