"It is in a beautiful location, not far from picturesque gardens. a nice selection of diners in the menu. you need the steak pipe with puff bakery topping! it is very generous and tasty. served with veg and baby potatoes. also very favorable."

"After a 5 hour long drive, myself and my husband dined here for the convenience. I had the duck orange noodles, which was rather tough to cut through and even burnt as you will see from the pictures. My husband had the chicken and haggis mash for which he found there was not enough chicken and wasn't too fond of the haggis."

"My only complaint was I was only staying one night ! We were in the family suite , the rooms were spacious, warm and clean. The shower was powerful , always a bonus . The bar area was very cleverly sectioned to provide a feeling of intimacy although you were in a shared room . The hosts were friendly and informative and I enjoyed 3 or 4 drams off the excellent single malt gantry with some impressive guidance from the owner . The full Scottish breakfast was of excellent quality and very well cooked . nice coffee too Throw in the breathtaking scenery and what’s not to love ! I’ll be back in the better weather for more than one night ,for sure ! Food drinks: Great breakfast , fantastic whisky selection"

"Thanks again to TripAdvisor for letting us know about places to stop for a break while on a road trip. Handy to the this cafe has lots of outdoor tables, although on the day we visited, it was raining. The inside space is also...large, and separated into two rooms there are tables and chairs in the first, which they seem to keep for people eating a meal, while we were directed to the second, smaller room with chairs and low tables for those having coffee and cake. It made things a little messy when you had ordered scones and were trying to spread jam and cream on them. The scones were impressive the size of two standard scones, and so I was able to cut mine in half and take the second half away with me. The coffee not so impressive we asked for triple shots but it was still weak coffee. Dogs were being made welcome indoors in the cafe a positive for some customers, obviously, but not for us. To have them so close by our low table indoors, with dog water bowls provided right beside us, and to see staff patting the dogs (to be fair, the dogs approaching them may have made it difficult not to) as they serve food well, it’s a different attitude to hygiene and people in this part of the world. Artwork and framed photos on the walls and a few other local items are for sale here, and the young staff do well. A good choice for a break while on a road trip."
