"Located in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, right across from the Festspielhaus, the restaurant had changed management over the years. Never great shakes. But this time, it's different! This time, the Italian incarnation is a keeper. Cheerful, welcoming service, good food, unpretentious. We especially liked the...nice lamb shank, well-seasoned with juniper berries, and other lamb dishes, various fish specialties. Ask for their specials of the day. The salads were nicely put together, and you can put your own balsamico and olive oil in it, not over-sauced. Stay for an espresso, and even the good-old tiramisu will make you smile."

"The breakfast was in itself very tasty, but outside you could not enjoy it, as you had 5 wasps on your plate wandering around on 4 August). All guests were tensed and hoped that they will not be stabbed, here a puppy bait might be quite appropriate to keep the animals away from the guests. On demand, a waitress was, fortunately, so kind to clear us a place inside, then it went back to 1-2 wasps, who also looked over there. Pricely you can't complain, we ordered four of them the dream breakfast for 9,80€ and have been well fed and had a delicious hot drink as well as a dessert. Breakfast at Böckeler is recommended, however, if you are afraid of wasps or even allergies, you should look for a place in the interior or look past another season."
