"Honestly nothing negative to say for my first experience! I grabbed a late lunch/early dinner and the server and sushi chef greeted me warmly and continued to impress. I tried the shrimp sunumono which was the perfect balance of sweet and vinegary. The highlight of the meal was the Happy Spoons (scallop in ponzu sauce and fish eggs). The name says it all. I also had a delicious piece of uni and the Samurai Roll that is a top roll in the city in my opinion."

"I really liked it! I was very unsure if we would enjoy the dinner. But it was great! That cheese fondue….could barely eat after that. Shared a veal chop and also had a taste of the schnitzel. Both outstanding. Portions are very large! Fortunately our server guided us and we didn’t completely over order! We were too full for the chocolate fondue, sadly. Highly recommend"

"First, Japanese food is so much more than sushi. And it's in the other foods where flavours really come alive at Fuji Yama (we didn't order any sushi so I can't speak to that). However, we order 5 appetizers (so we could sample many items instead of just one or two). Could barely finish the fifth item. All delicious.Ordered:Joanna Secret: Crab, Mango, Avocado, deep-fried and topped with sweet mayo and Tobiko - red fish eggs - my absolute favourite of all 5 we ordered Gyoza Japanese Pork Dumplings - incredibly fresh, juicy and deliciousCoconut Tempura Shrimp - do not pass these up - my wife's favouriteYakitori Chicken skewers with green onion in Teriyaki sauce - wow, outstandingJapanese Fish Cakes with cheddar and curry mayonnaise - the heaviest of the 5 due to the oozing melted cheddar'ish, Cheese-Whiz'ish inside but pretty good too.A really good Sapporo on-tap (forgot how good this beer is) and it was a good night - which will be repeated again. "We've been to the Kinjo on MacLeod Trail several times and it was great. Our experience here was as indicated, "okay."We enjoyed the friendly service, the the portion sizes were much smaller then our past experiences at the original Kinjo's.The tempura beans were very greasy, the wasabi was only mild.Don't feel we'll go back."
